left handed bridge
Hi guys, needing some help here, does anyone know if acoustic bridges are universal?been shopping for a new one but no luck so far,so wondered if it's just a case of turning them round?also my saddles abit damaged by over tightening of the strings and possibily cheap wood, would this make a difference to the sound?thanks for any help,Dan.

do you mean the whole bridge assembly ( which is major surgery )
or the plastic saddle ?
re saddle: if its compensated you will need a left handed one ( readily available )
if its not compensated ..just turn it the right way round ( if theres slots in it )
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEFT-HAND-Com ... 35c0afe910 ( just an example )
make sure of the sizes ( thickness etc )
it might be an investment to buy a tuner ..then ' over tightening ' wont be an issue
+ try a lighter gauge .. some guitar builds dont like ' piano strings '

if the string cant get past the peg when you tune up and there are no serious cracks everything should be ok...if the saddle is ok..no need to replace it just tune your guitar to the correct pitch
and keep your eye on the pegs..bottom line if the peg(s) wont hold the strings..then the hole(s) need plugging and redrilling..but it shouldn't come to that
