I had a Les Paul Copy hand made by a UK Luthier and when it was completed the finish in my opinion whas terrible. Experts said that it looked as if made by a poor amateur !
It had a price tag of £3200 plus the cost of the case, he will not give me my deposit and goodwill payment of £1500 or the case back and has kept the instrument. After research I found that he had not any money and had dissolved at least four companies before so pointless in going through the small claims court. The reason for this post is to warn others to be cautious and only deal with Luthiers after a thorough check.
