Songs you learned first.

Post by beemaster »

What songs did you guys learn when you were just starting out on guitar? Finding songs that are at my level is really hard for me for some reason. I was hoping somebody might be able to suggest some.

Does anyone have suggestions on some easy songs for a beginner? Maybe the first one you learned?

Some people may hardly remember which song actually they started with their guitar life. I started with "Hotel California - The Eagles" and "Every Breath You Take - The Police". I would suggest newbie to start with "Hotel California" because in this song you will get familiar with general chords.

The first time I ever considered myself able to play a song on the guitar was when I learned a blues riff in "A" - all it was was a 12-bar blues playing nothing but the bass notes but damn was I proud of myself.

I started out with Californication - Red hot chili peppers.

Really easy and i was totally proud when i could play it without messing up.

although i did skip the five finger chords or whatever big horrible chords that song has got.

Also Metallica - Enter Sandman

Another easy song with a faster pace.

Well, I started learning the usual beginner songs, and googled like crazy for easy songs to play once I discovered a few chords.

Knocking on Heavens Door etc...

I felt these haulted my progress, so I decided to find some of my favourite songs of the moment and no matter what chord I would learn them.

I would reccomend this to all, pick a song you like, or love, and you know inside out rather than something thats popular cause its easy. You get so much more from it.

I learnt.

Dont Look Back Into The Sun and Time For Heroes by The Libertines.

Helped alot with Barre chords.

So my advice after 7 months? Learn soemthing you like and know.
