I'm new

Post by PattonRocks »

:D Hi all, I'm not usually found on forums but thought i'd give it a go as the other half gets bored to death of me talking about music!! I'm a guitar teacher from Brackley UK and teach from my studio which is based in our house.

Hope to speak to some of you soon...

Cheers,
PR

Hi thanks for the welcome guys... I used to teach in Leamington Spa, then Brighton and now Brackley. I listen to most music but am mainly a rock man. Love faith no more and mr bungle but also appreciate tech guitar work also... Basically anything that sounds good :) Any of you guys perform or do music as a living?

Cheers,
Jon

I did teach guitar for a while but I ran out of time due to family and work commitments.

It would be great to actually work making music or playing with a band etc.

Do you write your own music at all?

nice, Yeah I've been writing since I was in my first school band... I've got a fostex FD-4 full to the brim with stuff!! All sounds so dated now :) Teaching is good when your busy but sucks when it's not. I've been through many call centres etc on my journeys to keep things going...

What sort of stuff do you play?

@saravedi Welcome to the forum though please start your own thread!

@PattonRocks - sounds great - hopefully you have some in MP3 format that you can upload here so we can hear your stuff?

I enjoy all sorts of music though primarily rock . I am currently listening a lot to Thunder which I have only just got in to recently. My favourite all time bands are Queen and Guns N Roses (original lineup) and I love the likes of Joe Satriani and Steve Vai.

It would be great to hear more about your music and your writing process. One of the things I have always struggled to do is writing my own music and it is something I really want to do!

Check out this post where I explain my issue

And here is the only two original things I have ever recorded and these were some time ago!

Check post 7 http://forums.ollysguitar.com/topic/737/test/

Look forward to hopefully hearing some of your music and your songwriting processes!
