Greetings from Belfast

Post by Redno5 »

Hi everyone, I'm Col from Belfast in not so sunny Northern Ireland. Quite new to guitars, have played a bit of bass many years ago and got an acoustic 2 years ago but fancy an electric now.
Any help & advice would be warmly apreciated.

Cheers
Col

Hi Col

Welcome to the forums!

What kind of music are you into and what style are you hoping to play on your new electric guitar?

Hi Olly and everyone else,

I'm into most types of music but i mostly want to learn to play 70s & 80s rock. Rainbow, UFO, poss some Def Leppard if I can ever figure how to get 1 guitar to sound like the Viv/Steve and Phil!
I'm going (again) to look at more guitars this afternoon. Torn between a couple of different models. When i get back I will post my thoughts on the forum and see if I can get some feedback from you guys. My budget is not big so I need to shop wisely!!

There are plenty of excellent economy models out there Redno, there's no need to spend hundreds of pounds.

And your choice of music is excellent. Rock on.

I second that!

Yes Mikey is right also about not having to spend a fortune to get something decent - especially as a starter!

Anyhow I will look forward to hearing your selections!
