Pocket Amplifier

I've seen some very small amplifier called pocket amplifier from vaious brand.
sized just about 5 inches round, with pre amp and headphone jack, equipped with some effects as well, and 9V battery powered.
but i don't how effective it can be
have anyone tried this pocket amp?

I'm really tempted, but like you am a bit wary of it sounding lame. Would like to hear a few opinions before I buy. anyone....

I have this one http://www.zzounds.com/a--2677073/item--DANN10 It is a great wee amp for its size. Great portability and a handy belt clip. Also has a headphone jack. It doesn't have the best tone as you would guess, its a wee bit sharp. I would recommend this if you are looking for an amp to walk around the house with, take to a friends or to use for travelling.
