Thought I would make a little loop to jam to when I had a few minutes today.
Not going to develop this but thought I would share!

A satchy idea
why dont you put bass /drums on to it ..organise it into verse / choruses and write
a bridge cause it sounds really good..if you could then pass it on to a singer songwriter
who could add a melody and lyric..record it into cubase you've got yourself a really good track
im saying this cause this is exactly how i put a song together...im sh!te at melody and esp lyric
and the writers i work with ( always fellow musos or friends ) dont usually know a G chord from a Kmaj7
but can write and sing
i would definitely pursue this one ..
+the guitar sounds really nice

Thanks for listening. This was really just a couple of ideas that came about from creating the jam track. I can't even imagine how this could even be developed to include vocals or a melody but you do raise a really interesting idea...
I know that collaboration could be good for me, you have even recommended it though I don't really know anyone that would I could work with like that. Even if I did, I always had in my mind that to get someone to work with me within the limited time I have would be almost impossible. I had not considered the fact I could send the audio for someone to work on in their own time - potentially anywhere in the world.
So this is quite an exciting idea!
When you write, how much of the song do you have in your mind? Or do you just lay something down and allow the melody/lyrics to really transform it?
I would love to hear more about how you go about this process

i think you must be on the same ' wavelength ' though for this to work ..ie liking the same
genre of song...i have written songs and got singers to sing them..but i prefer to write 'backings'
and leave the melodies/lyrics to those who are a lot more capable than me
a lot of paul simon songs have been created like this

Where are you ultimately trying to take your playing, as an individual guitarist, so that you arent categorized or pigeonholed as a JS sounding guy?
By the way, I love this and the "Satch Boogieish" tapping middle. Melody is beautiful.

Polyal - thanks. I am going to see if I can find someone online that might like to work with me. It could be just the thing to get me started.
It would be good to hear one of your compositions sometime!
I would like to be able to compose music both on guitar and piano/keyboard that is interesting to listen to and combine that with interesting guitar work within the music.
Generally I don't think my playing sounds like Satch but there is no denying that this one does. I think it is the 5add9 chord that immediately makes me think of him!

I really like Satch but I am not an instrumental player. If I could compose and play as well as Satch I would be happy but I don't think it is in me. I like songs.
