What Bands You Into Right Now?

Post by olly »

After a long few months of listening to the whole of Thunder's music catalogue I'm starting to feel the need to find something fresh.

So what are you guys into at the moment?

I'm into quite a lot of rock styles but it cannot have vocals that scream or road so much you cannot hear what they are saying and also the band needs to utilise guitar solos!

Any recommendations?

:D :D :D I didn't think your band choice would have changed James! Are you really not listening to anything else at all at the moment?

Have tried, there are some good songs out there, but nothing can come close to that raw growl of the SG.

My wife bought me Warrant's greatest hits for Christmas. I can't get it out of the CD player in my car!

Ive just discovered (sort of) Gypsy Jazz a la Django. I Romany mate of mine who plays wicked Gypsy rythm guitar has opened my eyes to this amazing music form. I sit and watch his strumming hand and it drives me nuts that I cant play it yet!

Guthrie Govan man...learning every song off his Erotic Cakes. I'm still working on track 1 - Waves. I am OCD about practicing that riff, and getting it to speed...Im surprised my students havent torn my guitar away from me.

Also... you guys got a hot little girl guitarist by the name of Joanne Taylor Shaw...man....she's amazing...I'm going to see her in April. That girl sounds like Jimi and Stevie met up in heaven and said "Hey as a practical joke, let's reincarnate ourselves and come back to earth as a hot skinny blonde girl and blow people's minds".
