want some live drums on your next album?

Post by kyledrums »

hey guys

im thinking of doing some online session drumming. would anyone be interested in having me drum on their tracks?

im in the process of updating my website to show what i sound like but theres a few clips up at the moment

http://www.glastonburydrums.com

all i would need is your recording and ill record a few takes and either send back individual drum tracks or a stereo pair

cheers kyle

I like your idea actually - Unfortunately I have no songs that you could drum to however I intend to write some and I will certainly bear in mind your services,

do other people offer such services that you know of? i.e remote drummers?

i know some pro drummers do. but obviously with that comes pro prices. your looking at £150 a song and thats just the ones i can find prices for. some dont list there prices so i can only imagen how much they charge.

there are also a few drummers who have acsess to a studio but with that you pay for studio time as well as theres. the reason i can keep my costs down is the fact i have a kit miced up ready to go. and also as im not some hot shot named drummer your just paying for the tracks not my name. well not yet anyway ;)

Sounds good Kyle - looks like you might have found yourself a nice little niche in the market as I can definitely see how it could work out. If I had a decent song then my only choice would be to use EZdrummer, which is good, but I can't imagine it would ever be as good!

thats what i was thinking. plus i love to play all styles of music with as many people as i can. but cant really fit in any more gigging bands. this way i hope to play with loads of people from all over the world with no gigging comitments

i hate spending money as well. if you have a track ready for drums now ill do it for free. im only going to do the first 5 peoples tracks for free so get in quick :) you never know you might like it so much you think its worth £30 in the future.

i love drum machines and use them all the time for song writing but sometimes they really dont cut it

There's a new service called GrooveZoo that debuted at the NAMM show this year that allows you to hook up and contract with session players and negotiate percentage points for release and the like. I'm there now and though it's in the early stages, it seems promising. I am looking to collab with bass and drummer myself, but in the mean time I keep producing my own stuff and hitting it out there on RevNation, and I've already picked up on some potential leads.

Evening guys and gals. Just an update (if anyone is interested) had my first few proper paying clients. It sounds so bad calling them that. Anyway I've ironed out any technical problems and have my website up and running. Check it out. Any constructive criticism you have would be great as well
