Will let you know goona pick a Gibson SG up on Monday 11/4/11, The samick Gregg Bennet I have is the best quilaty guitar i own so far, it was built in Korea. My other guitar Vintage and ESP are not as the good, the ESP is a close 2nd behind the Samick but the ESP and Vintages's where built in China.

Japan, produce some of the best guitars around, but mostly for companys like Fender, and Ibanez. Korea seem to produce 3/4 of the worlds guitars, and i have had a few guitars in my time, and some of the best, and some of the worst guitars have not only come out of the same country, but out of the same factory.
