New Guitar

Post by jamesd74 »

Was in the RSPCA charity shop in Otley. I was looking on the toy shelf when I found this...

I picked it up and thought this can't be a child's guitar, the neck is way to thick.

It was priced at a £10 so I bought it..

Got home and found out it was an East German made Pallor Guitar. That was the easy bit..

Once I figured out what "Made in GDR" related to which country.

There are no other identifying marks..

I don't think it priceless, but would love to more about its history.

Its old and very well made, it also sound pretty good. I will do a sound clip when the new strings arrive...

Anybody any ideas about where it came from???????

I now know, thanks to the boys at the euro guitar forum, that it is a Musima 500 camping guitar. Built in East Germany around 1960s.. Its worth 10x what I paid for it. But I don't think i will sell her (HEDI) as I sort of think its romantic to have a cheap eastern block death metal machine of doom. Opps it acoustic sweet sounding nylon strings of holy goodness in my collection...
