Line 6 Amps

Post by crowhue »

Ive just become a Line 6 dealer (hurrah) and was wondering what opinions you had of their amps and effects on this forum? They seem to be loaded with effects, loopers, emulations etc and build quality looks good but are the amp emulations doing it for you and do the effects stand up to pedal type FX or similar amps from VOX etc?

Can anyone tell me is the Line 6 spider IV15 up to much for a practice/ jamming amp? Looking to get a slightly bigger amp with a few more effects and this seems well rated on the Dawsons web site.
Thanks for any advice

OK folks, to throw a spanner into the works, I have tried a Roland 20XL practice amp in a local store. Lovely clean sound with plenty of effects in a compact case. Very impressed for not much more folding stuff than the Line 6. Any thoughts anyone?

Can't help there mate...Although I know Roland have a very good name.....

If you like it and the sounds suit your style of playing..then get it.......

I bought the Peavey Vypyr because I liked the heavey sounds and the Vox model....No other reasons.....

I got a 75 watt Spider Jam, just because the shop had one and i needed a new amp, and i had heard good things about Line 6. To be honest, i've been using it for a couple of years now and it serves my purpose. The jamming functions are good and you can get some really decent tones out of it. I just wish the distortion was a little better.

As far as digital amps go, I'd personally stay clear of Line 6 amps, having owned a Toneport in the past. Digital guitar amp technology has come a long way what with the Kemper and Axe FX coming along. Nonetheless, good luck with selling them, hope it works well for you!
