That is one nice guitar.Apache wrote:If you've got around £400-£500 to spend, to be honest I'd just get the one guitar, and get one with better pick ups etc.
I would EMG's are good pickups for metal too, and much better than those you get on the Omen.
The ESP's are fab but if you want to do alternate tunings its a nightmare - lots of metal is in drop d or c, so a hard tail would be a good option, have a look at this:-
This has got active EMG's, and when I played it in the shop I loved it:-

So are they better than EMG's???jamesd74 wrote:They are pick ups designed for mainly metal playing.
That is all down to individual taste.Dom wrote:So are they better than EMG's???jamesd74 wrote:They are pick ups designed for mainly metal playing.![]()
Might be worth just trying say the Omen 6, and then trying something else in the shop that has EMG's then you can hear the difference.Dom wrote: Ye really nice guitar. But i dont have that money to spend in one go. which fails quite alot

Apparently Schecter and ESP owned by the same people, and I did read somewhere that some of them are made in the same factory..
Good luck with your search - my purchases were both impulse buys... Went it just to try, compare etc, and well u know how it goes....
