Hello. My daughter is interested in learning the guitar. What kind and size guitar would you guys recommend for a teenage girl to learn on?
thanks in advance

I would go with a full size...My 8 year old is getting to grips one...
Yet it may better to take her to a music shop and let her play a few in different size's.
I believe that when you are comfortable you play better....

Thank you both for the advice.
Cute vid

Ya, I'm going to get her a full size acoustical and get her in some lessons next week. I have no musical talent, hopefully she does lol
Thanks again

Try the Sigma TM12 travel acoustic (TM12E for electro acoustic). Not cheap but easily the best value small bodied acoustic guitar that Ive tried. I gave one to my teenaged daughter at Christmas and its lovely although I do tend to play it more than her

Just like jamesd74 said.. a full size guitar would be fine.. As it sounds better too.. or if you think that it might be a little hard for her to get used to those metal strings.. you can also go for an nylon strings guitar for a start.. and progress to nickel lately, this will help her gradually get her fingers hard and tough and she will feel pain less likely..
And yeah do make her join this forum.. this would help her..

A 36 in (91 cm) guitar if your child is almost ready for a full-size guitar but is still too small to comfortably play it.
