I have been watching lots of bass players on youtube playing cover songs. Why do they wear headphones when playing?

usually for monitoring purposes.....could be just posing...or perhaps plain ugly ears
if the foldback system is ok headphones shouldn't be necessary

depends on the circumstances.....post link

Apparently, according to her public facebook, Jamiroqai had found her playing on some covers on youtube, they invited her to play on their South American tour. All her 9 covers are great
It is amazing what you find on youtube. This guitarist has posted 15 songs on youtube, and nothing is known about her despite loads of websites trying to find out about her, she seems to have just vanished. The nonchalant way she plays makes it look so effortless. Her last post was 10 months ago.She doesnt wear earphones though.

Thanks for the reply

there's load of fantastic talent about ....these people never go away...she's probably got other projects

the reason for no headphones...shes listening via monitors ( speakers )
shame about the 3 fingered soloing( bad technique )

if gavins' learning bass he 'll probably use his pinkie more than his ring finger
esp at the nut end due to the greater fret spacing..be interesting to hear what
his teachers approach is
