Micheal Angelo batio is the fastest. I have listen to that furious dude. Simply outstanding. Rhandy Rhodes is also cool.

My Favorite would be Dream Theater's John Petrucci, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani.

Have you heard of Vinne Moore?

Michael Angelo and Malmsteen is very fast..
but when mentiong about the fastest guitar player, there's only one name running in my head that is flamenco guitarist, Paco De Lucia.
with his bare hand, he able to play 32bit tempo complicated song clean and clear, without missing a single notes! i can't see his fingers moving when playing.

I certainly would not put Slash as the fastest player - but for enjoyment, entertainment and melodic solos he is the best

It's a miracle that John Petrucci's fingers don't burst into flames. He plays on that guitar like no tomorrow. He is cool.

Vai admits to being not that quick anymore. Something to do with a mediacl problem he had a few years ago. How about Greg Koch? Some of his country stuff is amazing. Funny too ....

Yes, I agreed that Michael Angelo batio and Steve Vai are the fastest. I did not know about the remaining guitarists but will try to watch them soon,

Spot on james, speed is unimportant when it comes to music. I would rather listen to 1 note played with the heart and soul of a blues guitarist, than a thousand played by a shredder of any kind.

(Copy and paste it, I don't know how to make it a link lol)

Excellent technique, his fingers look effortless

After Woodstock, Alvin Lee was known as the fastest guitar player. Not sure if he was faster than some of the guitarists in the list, but he was the trailblazer for these guitarists in my opinion

now i will do it at 6000mph ....ready....do you want me to play it again

the only problem playing this fast would be you would have to learn 2000+ songs
to do a 1 hr gig

+why is the clock stuck @ twenty to four???
