I use the Ultimate Guitar site because it tends to be the first one that comes up in a google search but I'm curious as to what resources other people use.
Does anyone still buy books??

...not a chance, at the prices books are now. I use Ultimate Guitar for most TABS as well, Heartwood Guitar for lyrics and chords, and Pianotte for sheet music.

I still buy certain books personally. It can be frustrating when trying to learn, for example, some Eric Johnson and slowly work through the faster parts to only find it is actually wrong.
Having said that I have found many tab books to be incorrect as well.
Ultimate guitar is certainly a great archive. Even got the app for the iPhone which is great for on the move.

I hunt down MIDI files online and convert them into tabs via Guitar Pro5.

I have found TABS4ACOUSTIC & CHORDIE VERY GOOD. May have to dig through a few versions of each song on Ultimate Guitar to find one that suits but its good as well.

It's a real pain in the backside. I tend to go on user reviews.

Try
www.cleartabs.com
It's a fully licensed site unlike ultimate guitar.
