Your Current Setups

Post by olly »

What is the setup you are currently using?

Mainly now if I am playing electric I am using my Ibanez prestige into:

Wah 535q -> Boss DS-1(jap) -> Marshall valvestate 60w amp

in the loop I have a Boss DD-3 and a Boss Chorus.

Not plugged in at the moment but is part of the whole setup is a DS-1 seeing eye mod , boss compression and a boss flanger.

I also use the Boss RC-20(I think) which is the two pedal loop station which is great for laying ideas and soloing over the top!

Now I have my cellar/studio kind of set up I might be switching back to my JCM900 head and 2 x 12 cab if I am able to crank it enough to get decent tone!

My setup is a Fender Telecaster and a 1985 Marshall lead 20
I have a few pedals, but I think I mention them in another thread. I am happy with what I got and the tone I get is pleasing.

That is the aim! I'm still not 100% happy with my tone at lower volumes - still searching to find something that works for me!

I think it maybe cheaper to put in a quality speaker in your amp then buy , buy, buy and maybe still not be statisified

at least that worked for me

Straight into a BlackStar these days, I use the reverb on there a touch but I love the feeling of getting back to basics. I have gotten further and further away from effects and back into an organic feel and how it all sounds when it's stripped down.

When I used to tour years ago, my Pedalboard was an NYC with a Dunlop Brick, a Dyna Comp, Digitech Synth Wah Envelope filter, Phase 90, a Digitech X Series Delay and a Turbo Tube Screamer, and a Visual Sound Volume. I was in an R&B Funk band, hence the wah and filter.
