What Bands Are You Into Right Now?

Post by olly »

When listening to music I tend to go through phases and generally listen to one band constantly for any given period of time before changing to something else.

At the moment I have been listening almost constantly to Thunder and have been doing so for the last couple of months since discovering their music.

So do you listen to a general variety of music and what music is it that you are mainly into at the moment?

I've recently rediscovered KISS and Tracy Chapman. An interesting mix, granted, but both quality!

What is your favourite AC/DC song at the moment James? Do you really not listen to anything else? :|

I only know one or two by KISS but I quite enjoy them. I love Tracy Chapman - great voice and great songwriting. It took me ages to be able to play this lovely little riff and sing (if you can call it that) at the same time:

My favourite is "give me one reason to stay" - a cheeky wee 12-bar blues which makes it easy to play :P

At the moment i am learning to play Hells Bells. I can't remember the last time I had a different CD in the car other then ACDC. If I am at home doing some house work, ( and believe you me there is plenty in this house with four kids) I put on the ACDC live at Donnington DVD to keep me happy.

@James - If you had to name your second favourite band - who would it be right now?

Thats a tough one!! Will have a rummage around and see what I can find to listen to. Off the top of my head I like some of the later Queen tracks, such as "I want it all" and maybe a bit of Guns and Rose's. But I have never heard anything that gets my foot tapping like ACDC. Once saw Take That in concert and I enjoyed that, more the women then the music. Men where outnumber 6000 to 1 it was greeeeeat!!!!!!!!!!!!.

You know, I haven't really listened to music other than the free radio blues stations so I guess I'm not into any bands like I was when I was a teenager :(

When you are nearing 60 I kind of think we never out grow the bands that we like when we were 16 :D

Completely agree John, there never seems to be anything like what you heard as a kid. Its like the , who is the best bond theory. 1000 people of all different age groups where asked who they thought was the best actor at playing James Bond. The all give the answer of the actor who was playing James Bond when they where a kid.

If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them...
