Topic: Buying a guitar

Hey,
I was wondering if anyone could help me out on this- I play a little bit of guitar myself but i'm only just a beginner so dont know too much about the ins and outs of the different makes. I am thinking about buyin a Maton M225 for a brithday present for someone who is a fairly experienced guitarist- as i know this is one they like. but i was just wondering if there are any other guitars out there that are in that price range or bellow that have a similar sounds etc to them. Any ideas would be good cos i'm not having much luck deciding

Thanks

Hi lottie. I have not played this myself but I have heard nothing but positive reviews about it. It is considered to be excellent value for money.

Re: Buying a guitar

The Norman ST40CW retails at less than the M225 but the quality is not the same by all accounts. Of course, that does not mean that the Norman is not a good guitar . . . it really depends on your budget.

Are you a guitarist yourself?

Wat do you reckon to the tanglewood guitars? sorry to keep asking just still not sure- its the last time!  are they any comparison to the maton- a music shop told me they were really good for that type of style by not sure if they were just trying to get a sale???

what type of music do you play? u been playing for long?

Re: Buying a guitar

Ahh Tanglewood . . . excellent quality, very very good indeed. But then I'm biased. You can't beat British quality. Seriously, Tanglewood is a very reputable name.

I've been playing for years and years myself. Started at the age of 10. I love all kinds of music and so I play all kinds of music. When I started off it was hard rock that I wanted to learn but my tastes have diversified over the years. I'm still very much into rock but I play folk, classical, anything really!

Buying guitar is one of the important task that has to be done carefully. One must first decide what kind of guitar to purchase and in what range. Decide which kind of guitar can suite the best. You can take advices from the guitar teachers or from the professionals.
