Topic: Does any one have an Legal problems they would like some Advice on.

I am currently studding for my LLB (law degree), so if any one as any small problems they would some advice on or any thing they would like to know, the implied contractual terms when buying items in a shop, or any injury or loss please let me know.

I do not practice Law but it will be good for me to research some problems other then the bog standard ones you get at university.

I can only research UK law and don't know anything regarding other country's.

I do have a question - are companies legally obliged to deal with customer complaints or are they within their rights to say "if you don't like it get lost"?

When I asked the question I was thinking about banks and the recent reports in the news about how successful different banks are at answering complaints and it got me thinking, in many cases there is no profit motive for companies to satisfy customer complaints. So I wonder if there is legislation in place that forces companies to answer customer complaints.

Hi James - thanks for the offer. I cannot think of any issues I have at the moment but I will certainly bear it in mind.

There is no legislation in place regarding complaints. However, I would assume that complaints of a more serious nature are regulated by FSA regulations. These will be to over see that the financial organisation do not leave their ass's exposed, regarding money laundering and so forth.
