Topic: Most Influencial Album

Albums seem to not be so popular these days since downloading came about.

There also are not many albums you would listen to the whole way through and like very song so most people do not bother.

There are some rare gems of albums you can listen to the whole way through and love every song -Guns N Roses Appetite for Destruction is an album that I love very song..

It is very good in every way

Do you have any?

Re: Most Influencial Album

i am more of a song fan rather than, naming albums, huge list of songs , but i tend to forget the albums as in whole they belong to..

Re: Most Influencial Album

back then in 1992, i bought my first rock album, Gun's N Roses "Use Your Illusion II". (blue color album) from there, i started to like rock more and more. Another influential album of mine is Black Sabbath "heaven and Hell" with Ronnie James Dio as their frontman that time.

Re: Most Influencial Album

I'm rapidly starting to think I may be the oldest person on here? What about Satanic Majesties Request, by the Rolling Stones, absolute classic, Obscured by Clouds, Dark Side of the Moon and the Wall by Pink Floyd,

I didn't get where I am today,
by being somewhere else.

I think you might be right!  default/big_smile  but that gives you many more years experience.

I know this is probably going to sound crazy but I do not think I have heard any of the albums listed in your posts. I might know one or two tracks from Pink Floyd but that is it!

Might have to check them out!

I cant seem to get away from Hysteria by Def Leppard. Takes me back to the mid - late 80's playing this record (YES RECORD!!!) over and over. Also going to see them in concert in Belfast twice on their Hysteria tour!! FAB

I saw them in Glasgow a couple of years ago - they were awesome but they were touring with Whitesnake who were on first so we had to put up with them for about fourteen hours first.  default/mad

Yep, I saw then in Belfast on that tour. Coverdale was bloody awful, miming half the time! He should really have a sit down with a pipe and a pair of slippers. Leppard were Brill that night

Re: Most Influencial Album

As for Albums that I literally liked every song on:

White Ladder - David Gray
Amos Lee (self titled)
Third Eye Blind's Debut Album
Appetite for Destruction -  I didn't much like some of the songs, like You're Crazy AND Anything Goes.  One of my favorite points was the Stones-ish Breakdown on Rocket Queen.
Full Moon Fever - Tom Petty

Re: Most Influencial Album

The album that probably had the most influence on me was probably Setting Sons by The Jam.I saved up my pocket money to buy it.That is the album that sparked my interest in music, and i bought a guitar. Not that i could play it.

Re: Most Influencial Album

I still after 30 years can't get passed Back in Black.......I have tried to open my mind a bit more but na its Lord Angus of the SG order all the way

Although this is now on my i pod for when summer returns and the bike comes out to play

I really like it......

Plus it simple to play.....

B, A, E Same strumming pattern all the way though...

Although I think i hear a G in the chorus but na yer don't need it to strum along.

Imagine if the words of Imagine ever came true.....
