A few of my private student's have this and it's awesome!!
Really great practice tool, especially for working on your
lead and improvisation.
Anyone else ever try it?

Yes I have one and it really is a great tool.
I recently converted a cellar into a makeshift recording studio and since then I haven't used it as I have been focusing on playing directly through the computer for recording purposes. However when I have used this before, the simplicity of it and how quickly you can lay down ideas and improve lead playing is fantastic.
Lay down a two chord vamp in a second or two then work on lead all day long over it. It makes practicing scales and lead passages so much more fun.

I'll be honest, I do own it and I'm less than happy with it. Ive owned mine for about 3 years now. Its in my office among other things that I dont use or care for anymore.
I use my Boss JS8 now and I love it.

I must say that since I have Cubase ready to record at the press of a button I have not used this pedal as Cubase does it all plus more and easier to use.
Having said that, before I had anything set up to record without at least some hassle, this pedal provided the ability to easily lay down a jam track to play to.
Some of the videos on youtube of how people have used it are pretty impressive as well.
What aspect of it did you not like/get along with?

I dont like the click tracks, they are primitive at best and the tracking of the change is sort of a bother, I also dont like how when overdubbing the signals get degraded with each pass, I think its a good idea in theory, but in using it to set a loop and then overdubs etc, it gets quickly hideous. Also if you need different tones forget it. If you have a two channel amp its going to be whatever that amp setting is on, so its clean only or dirty only, and thats too constraining because theres not a division of guitar tones, levels etc. It's just slop to my ears. Well over priced for what I ultimately get out of it.

Yes the drums/clicks are pretty poor but this wasn't really what I got this pedal to do. I must say I haven't overdubbed anything - just did a flat loop then used that to jam over.
I know what you mean about the constraints. Rightly or wrongly I ended up putting this pedal at the end of the effects loop which meant that I could record whichever sound I wanted then play a completely different sound over the top. Putting it in the front of the amp would certainly be restrictive.
I guess it depends what you want out if it. It worked well for me to just try soloing over ideas or creating a quick jam track but I guess that is where the potential stops.

I had an RC20 Boss pedal and yes it was a great bit of kit. I say "was" because one day I switched it on - 3 months out of warranty - and it worked no more. It just made a hissing noise that did bear some resemblance to my guitar playing 
but wasnt quite what I was after.
Anyway that was £180 down the drain. When I can afford it Im going for the Digitech pedal instead.

Now that is annoying!
Do you know how the digitech compares?
I'm really happy with the how quickly I can create my loops on the PC now, though it is hardly portable if you need it be - though I don't so suits me well!

I hate Digitech.
Their manuals are overcomplicated, none of their tones are very good imo, and I own a GNX 4 and a GNX 3. Hate them both.
