you can make it very transparent...you can even change the melody lines...which is great for
sorting harmonies before re-recording them ( advisable ).but the closer to pitching the less processing
will be needed...this is still far better than having to retake to get things right. it is a tool to get things
right quickly ..not as a means to create a good singer
IMO singing is about pitching...a good singer might not necessarily have a good voice
but its a dam sight better listening than a singer with a good voice that cant pitch properly
it is the second instance where melodyne/autotune come into their own
i reacon any voice pitched properly sounds great...so dont worry what your voice sounds like
voices are like instruments .. not better or worse..just different
stevie wonder/paul mccartney are good example of dogs blx pitching as opposed to
ray davis ( kinks ) who tends to sing flat.....you cant comment on modern artists because
you can bet your bottom dollar they all use pitching aids for convenience in the studio...bar nobody
thats why most of them sound shite live..but when making records any decent producer will make sure the
pitchings near enough
