Topic: What to replace on my guitar?

Hi there, I have a unbranded (Rikter?) les paul guitar which i got for free some years ago, think it cost about £200 from music box. The guitar itself goes out of tune quite alot but i really like it's colour etc, I was wondering what is good to replace on a crappy guitar in order to make it sound better and more playable? Cheers

Re: What to replace on my guitar?

all guitar shops usualy have a tech in store take your guitar in and the tech might need to put on new tuning pegs and set the action on bridge if the sounds crappy you might want to upgrade the pick ups

Good advice Iain - I agree.

Tuning pegs will make a big difference with your tuning issues!Once in tune you will probably find the sound it way better!

Re: What to replace on my guitar?

Yer if you like it stick with it. It can be expensive replacing a guitar with one you may not get on with.

I am living testament to it.

Re: What to replace on my guitar?

Might just need a decent guitar setup to help it stay in tune. Or maybe a new tuneomatic saddle, good quality nut or some decent tuners. What about the strings: good quality, new, stretched in?
