Does any one see the point in buying a pre-relic guitar?

Are you buying a false image or does it make you believe its a true relic.

Imagine if the words of Imagine ever came true.....

This is a great question.  As you might have seen ESP/LTD came out with Tele type models this year.  I got the Black one with the relic'd Maple neck.

Honestly, Relic'd isnt for me.  Its like those jeans that you can buy with holes already in them.  I think they are trying to replicate the broken in feel of an instrument...but I'm not sure that Im with it.  I think its more a fad and marketing ideas than anything else, and will be short lived.  Sort of like the Ukelele fad that blew throgh last year.

I sort of agree, if its old its old.  I have been looking at the ESP and I don't think it is for me.

In a word, no. The idea sounds great but as soon as I hold a knackered looking Fender Custom Shop Strat in my hands with a 3 grand price tag I ponder the existence of such a thing or why anyone would buy it.

Id much rather relic a guitar myself by playing the hell out of it. I think they appeal to people who see guitars as collectibles or objects of desire rather than an instrument to study, learn and play with others.

A bit sad IMHO.

It is better if you can see the guitar in true not only in pictures. So you can also test it..
