Topic: What tracks are you working on at the moment?

I'm currently working on Greenday's 21 Guns, and having another bash at Stairway to Heaven - the issue with that is my memory!

I can nearly play the first page (albeit a bit more slowly than the original) but remembering al 12 pages is going to be a long job....

Been working on More than Words..  but I'm too cheap to pay for the last two instructional vids so I'm making the second half up as I go  default/roll

also working on getting some music for some lyrics I have written - I'm a little worried it might turn out to be G (tap) cadd9 (tap) Am7 (tap)     hahaha

James - good on you!

Streetsound - LOL  hopefully there is a fair amount of repetition in the song to make it easier for you  default/big_smile  And nice one for having a go at your own stuff too  default/big_smile

Re: What tracks are you working on at the moment?

Its not too bad thanks - its still not right, but I'm attempting to be good play slower stuff so that's really helping.

Think it was the combination of basketcase and anarchy in the uk with lots of rammstein that did it  default/hmm

I was also using the ESP which had 9's on in, but picked up the schecter (main guitar) which has 11's last night, and it sounds so much better  default/big_smile

How are you getting on with "more than words"?

I think I managed to work it out in the end default/smile .. but I still have trouble with the combined D/F#  chord..  your thread about your elbow made me rethink how I was doing it - because hooking my thumb over the top of the neck was really hurting. So now I am up to the stage where I can do the song ok but hesitate on that one chord change...  more practice of the fingering change I guess. default/smile

How long does it take you to master a new song?

Re: What tracks are you working on at the moment?

9s and 11s are string gauges 9s are slim and 11s fat.

ESP is a guitar manufacture that makes guitars aimed mainly at the mettle market.

Yep - don't ignore pain...

The only thing to do really is sit and practice the change into the d/f and from that to the other chord, and then gradually try and do it a little quicker, it will come, just takes time  default/smile

How long does it take to master a song - well it depends how complex it is... I've been working on 21 guns for a week and its not quite right, its getting closer, but I'm not good enough to play along with it yet... (well I was ok with the simplified version I was doing before my lesson, but I've been given the correct version now!)

Re: What tracks are you working on at the moment?

It is really hard to play guitar when you are a beginner. I tried that before and my fingers got swollen too then..
