Topic: What is Plectrum in guitars?

You might be playing guitars for years but do you know what is plectrum in guitars?

I am giving a short description on plectrum, if you know more please let me know!
A "guitar pick" or "plectrum" is a small piece of hard material which is generally held between the thumb and first finger of the picking hand and is used to "pick" the strings. Though most classical players pick solely with their finger nails, the "pick" is often used for electric and some acoustic guitars

Re: What is Plectrum in guitars?

Thanks for the explanation.

I personally enjoy the sound of a pick. It produces a more defined tone I find.

It is important to learn both techniques if you want to become an all rounded guitar player.

Also there are many different thicknesses of picks -they produce different sounds and allow for different techniques.

There are also different sizes and shapes.

I think it is important to experiment with a few different sizes and shapes to find out which works best for you.
