Topic: Hello

Hi everybody,
My name is Mark and I'm a guitar teacher from Dorset..... I have recently started a website www.randlesomeguitar.co.uk with the intention of giving everybody the chance to learn guitar even if they can't afford lessons.
The site is run on an honor basis ie to keep this site free i need people that can afford it pay something for what they are learning....

Check out the site, 'like' it and leave me honest feedback as to what it good and what you think i could be doing to develop it further.

I also am a private guitar teacher and if you are looking for lessons one to one then check out my other website www.markrandlesome.co.uk

Thanks a lot and i look forward to hearing from you all!!!

Re: Hello

Hi Randle

Welcome to the forum. We are a small group, but a friendly one here. Always nice to have a teacher on board. Please continue to post.

I checked out your site. Your ads are a bit too big. I know you need people to click on them, but you should try to downsize them a bit. I did check out one of your lesson videos and found that you have a pleasant way of teaching that comes across as not too difficult. Good job, I thought.

By the way, do you accept ¥yen  (that is Japanese money) actually I call it play money.

I booked marked your site and if you don't mind I'll post it on a few other forums. I don't know if you did it here, but maybe you should post your site on our "favorite guitar sites".
That way you won't get lost.

Also on your site, can you have it to where people can leave a comment without using their email account, please.

Re: Hello

Thanks very much for your feedback.... I had a chat to my webmaster about the ad size. the board is still out on that one!!lol

The donate button takes you to Paypal and i am assuming that it will have a converter for foreign currencies ? I've never really thought about it so thanks for bringing it up.

What do you mean about posting to your 'favorite guitar sites'? I can't see anything on Olly's guitar world regarding this.....i'm quite new to all this so help is appreciated!!

Thanks and glad you like the site

Mark

Re: Hello

Hi Mark

Nice to see you about. Your site is developing nicely. Your videos are really useful.

Mark used to teach me guitar a few years back and he gave me the confidence to begin teaching myself which I did for quite a while until family commitments prevented me from continuing. He is a top guy and a great teacher!

Here is the link to favourite guitar sites topic:

And whenever you do a new video you can always post it into a relevant topic or if you wish me to create you one, just shout!

Re: Hello

Great to here from you Ricky.... I've just kind of fallen into the website thing as i was asked to put some vids up on YT and then this guy contacted me and we've been working togethr efor about a month trying to get more interest. Although it does take a lot of effort it is good to get positive feedback from peole that are learning!!!

If you are fully booked with private lessons you can always send them my way mate!! I have a couple of slots available... don't know where you're based though. I'm nr Poole in Dorset? anywhere close??

Never really thought about the adult ed route... how does that work then?

Enjoy your Easter hols!

well i used to be based in Bognor Regis, and teach in local schools, and at adult Ed, but i now live in Adelaide, South Australia, so for my students to get to you it would be a helluva bus ride. LOL. Anyways good luck to ya.

Oh yeah, see your local adult ed centres, and see if they have any guitar courses running, if not, then ask them if they would like a course run. and then apply through the local council. however i do believe that there have been changes to the rules for teaching at adult ed, and now you may need some sort of basic teaching qualification. anyways worth finding out.
