How much does wood type affect your guitar tone?
That's really interesting! So if I want a brighter sound, I should look for a spruce top? Are there other woods I should consider too?

Overcoming Writer's Block in Songwriting
That’s really helpful! I’ve just started trying to write my own stuff, but I feel stuck too. Do you think there are any exercises for beginners that could help?

Struggling with Barre Chords
Thanks for the tips, guys! I’ll definitely pay more attention to my finger positioning and try those exercises. I hadn't thought about the action on the guitar—I'll have to look into that. Any specific finger exercises you recommend?

Struggling with Barre Chords
I'm really struggling to get clean barre chords, especially the F chord. I've been practising for a few weeks now, but my fingers just don't seem to have the strength or the right positioning. It feels like I’m pressing down hard enough, but I still get a muffled sound. I know practice is key, but I ...

How do I actually become good at guitar?
It's totally normal to feel lost when starting out! Try not to get too hard on yourself. Everyone learns at their own pace, and it's great that you're practicing daily. Maybe set small, achievable goals for yourself each week, like learning a new chord or mastering a simple scale. That way, you can ...

How long would it take for me to learn the Eruption solo as a beginner?
As a beginner, I really think it could take years, especially if you’re still figuring out basic techniques like finger placement and strumming. Eruption is a complex solo that requires a solid foundation. Maybe try starting with simpler solos to build your confidence first?

How can I start playing the guitar?
Have you thought about starting with easier guitars, like a nylon-string? They’re gentler on the fingers as you build up your calluses. Once you feel more comfortable, you can switch to something with steel strings. Plus, don’t forget to take breaks and shake out your hands when they start to hurt!

Getting Started with Guitar: Where to Begin?
YouTube is a great resource! There are tons of channels dedicated to beginners. Just grab a chord book, pick some of your favorite songs, and start practicing those chords. The more you play, the better you'll get!

Feeling Stuck? Let's Talk About Getting Back into Guitar.
I’m just starting out, but I can see how getting frustrated would be tough. Maybe just play around with the guitar and enjoy it without worrying too much about mistakes. I think it’s cool to just explore the sounds you can make.

How Can Listening to Jazz Songs Help with Improvisation on Guitar?
I just started listening to some jazz standards too! It's cool to see how different it is from what I'm used to. I think I’ll try to learn a few simple songs first before diving into improvisation.

Struggling to Find My Learning Style
I thought lessons or structured guides would help me learn guitar, since I've had success with that approach in other areas like drawing. However, it seems to drain my motivation when it comes to music. Resources like JustinGuitar just feel so slow and don't lead to playing the music I actually want ...

How long should I practice D.E.A. and (m) chords before moving on?
Okay, so I get that practice is important, but how long should I actually spend on these chords? Like, if I practice for 30 minutes today, is that enough or should I be doing like an hour? And should I be doing anything special while practicing?

Any way to get around the pain?
Okay, so everyone keeps saying the pain is normal, but how long does it actually last? I really want to keep playing but I don't want to mess up my fingers or get discouraged. Should I just keep pushing through? Also, what’s this about lighter strings? Do they really make that much of a difference?

Pitch vs tone
So, are you saying that even if I play the same note on different guitars, they can sound really different? I thought it was just about hitting the right note. How do I know which guitar is right for me?

Holy shit! You barely need to press to fret whatsoever.
This might be extremely obvious, but I thought I'd share in case it helps someone else. I just did an experiment by picking a string while carefully descending my finger onto the fret, and I discovered I barely even need to press whatsoever to get a clear, well-defined note. Not only that, but my ...

Struggling with finger exercises – need advice to improve faster
Start splitting your practice, like 10 mins exercises, then spend the rest on simple riffs or songs. Connect exercises to actual playing instead of just repeating them. You’ll notice way more progress once you do this.

I’m kind of lost here. So, was Mozart just super gifted, or did he actually study hard? I mean, how does someone become that good at music? Is it all practice, or is there some secret sauce to it?

Yep. Many times they're songs that don't exist, which is simultaneously annoying and kind of a nice source of songwriting inspiration.
