shoudn't worry to much about pronunciation ..most uk bands could n't give a sh*t if you can tell what ther're
singing about or not...concentrate on your music..it sounds pretty good to me...rock on

sell yourself as a uki band ( why be uk )...best of luck

i say this to any newbie.... learn and play the guitar as it is ..forget what handed you are...learn the instument as it is ,,,dont look for quick fixes so you can play in a day...it wont happen...be a guitar player
dont look for quick fixes...practice like f***k......................youve got your left hand to fret/hammer on/pull off
play harmonics/and all the rest of it ....why trade that off to pluck a friggin string...to 'be' like ' jimmy '

would a left handed person be any less of a player by learning the guitar in the conventional manner..is there any way of knowing?  if a left handed person was coaxed to write with is right hand from the onset would he/she be able to write just as well (and visa-versa). there must be loads of instances  where handedness could be an issue if one started to be conscious of it ..all the work driving a car is done  mostly with the left hand...gears/handbreak etc (UK)...if violins an classical instruments of that type were right and left handed..imagine the chaos in a classical orchestra..i see where vialli's coming from but is it a strong enough reason...if left handed guitars were'nt available would most left handed people not bothered and thought ..ah well never mind i'll have to think of something else to play

and food for thought .. if guitars were ' left handed to start with ' would a left handed person turn it round and play it normally because he/she is left handed??..for the sake of it..being left handed

if you want to check your action ...there should be a gap of 2mm between the 6th string and 12th fret
and a gap of 1.6mm between the first string and the 12th fret...this is a general setting assuming the relief of the neck is correct ( slightly concave from 1st fret to end of fingerboard )also make sure the clearance of the string from the nut over the first fret is the same as the clearance over the second fret when stopping the string at the first fret...sometimes its a mile too high esp with accoustics...( a credit card is about .8mm
thick)

what gauge string do you use and why?
you can ' bend ' the strings on any guitar as long as the strings are light enough ( gauge )
the lighter the string the easier and further the bend...the trade off ..if you use chords a lot they can start
to sound a bit iffy if not precisely fingered
i find 10 12 17 26 36 46 a good compromise for mixed styles

rosewood necks keep their ' looks ' longer..no dark staining that maple necks suffer after prolonged use

it seems like you've got your own version of 'oatcakes' ..but thats got to be for another forum

i 've got a strat with just the floyd bridge ( locked ) wouldn't swop it for anything.... the fast and
precise tuning (either up or down )i need this feature when gigging

lobby is a posh word for stew and must admit is a lot tastier than oatcake

i use the floyd rose system but the bridge is rock solid ( no tremolo )...tune up
and it will stay in tune until the temp changes ( outside gigs / hot pubs etc ).. and.. using the boss tu
results in a perfectly tuned git in  seconds...even when you cant here yourself think for
a blasting disco

the main point is... you dont muck about with the machine heads to get it in tune
and as far as string changes go (breakage)...if you're gigging take a spare git
you can always restring inbetween sessions

edit: i think the floyd rose setup and a boss TU2 tuner are the best thing since lobby and oatcakes (stoke on trent)

you really ought to consider a reasonable audio mixer as bottom line..you'll finish up here
anyway..the idea is you can plug loads of stuff into it  eg tape decks/dats/cd players/mics/guitars/televisions
synths/drum machines/other computers etc ..in fact anything with an audio o/p and if you've got enough
channels you can leave everything hard wired..so you can record from any source instantly..consider a proper soundcard also(audiophile 2496 or something similar)and use the the analogue ins and outs
these are my preferences (inherited from recording since the 60,s)..other people do it differently and hopefully will contribute to this thread

cubase LE has the the drum vsti(LM-7) and the bass(vb-1)but if you've got EZdrummer that would be a better option
see http://www.steinbergusers.com/cubase/le_plugin.php

use midi bass

assuming you have a midi port and can input midi data
and using 'help' to sort each step

start a new project in  cubase --> create a midi track

go to -->menu-->devices-->vst instruments...and load a drum machine( hope LE has one)

go back to the project window and in the inspector make the output to that instrument

you should now be able to here the drum machine by hitting certain notes on the keyboard

if you press record cubase will record this data ..this is a very basic guide see help and other
documentation to get more detail
