just stopping by to say hi there
So hot today that the leaves on the trees burned up, no fire but... Actually they are potted trees in big pots. Although I water them with buckets of water, that didn't help. The sun was scorching hot today. Did go for a bike ride at 6 pm and it was mostly shady and the sun had gone down behind the mountains. Oh, these summer nights!
Is it possible to recorded a second track while listening to the first track. I can't seem to figure it out.
thanks
When I was playing for several hours a day I would change my stings at least once a week. My fingers tend to get sweaty a lot and destroyed the strigns quickly. No I am not playing so much maybe they last a couple of months but I really have not been playing much at all over teh last year.
Having said that I have been advised by Aussie that Elixers are a good make of string that last well and I am going to give them a go next time.
What brand of strings do you use?
I buy Ernie Ball because they are like 6 bucks, but really I buy strings according to how much money I have in my pocket. If I have like 8 bucks , then I look for strings in that price range, which here would be Fender strings (materials made in US, but assembled in Mexico), can't really figure that one out
hi there
I'm new here also
Friendly bunch of people here
Yep, they sure did- in an excess of guilt, thousands were accepted without background checks or ID documents during the late 1970's, and while the political elite dabbed their dewy eyes and sipped their Chardonnay heroin importation and Asian organised crime grew a thousand percent in a matter of months.
Pardon me- my red neck is showing.
Heck it's ok
Here the police patrol the streets , but the yakuza owns the streets. With the downturn in the economy the club owers have asked the police to ask the yakuza to stop taking protection money. Terrible isn't it
Majior 7th and 9th's..?
...maybe as an intro run to set the scene- Cmaj7, C9, Fmaj7, Fm6, Cmaj7 again, D9, then a Bbmaj7 Abmaj7, Fm6 and Cmaj7?
Thanks aussie
I haven't tried it out yet, but it looks very interesting. Going to try some fingerstyle picking to it, that is how my mind imagines it
again thanks
popular vid here in japan
right now
thristy for some lemonade
think I'll make some
The problem is that we've created such a mess that we can't just get up and go because it would just be chaos.
I agree with Olly. We had no right being there in the first place. And John makes a good point - our young men and women are dying on an almost daily basis. The lessons of Vietnam seem to be lost to history.
As a Vietnam Vet, I never undstood why we were fighting there to begin with. Surely it wasn't for their wood to make our guitars with, well who knows these days. I recently found out Agent Orange was made in Australia, so I guess many nations had a financial interest in the war. I wonder if many Vietnamese immigrated to Australia
I gave it a go a few years back but I couldn't adapt to sitting in the saddle! It was just too sore for me. I tried everything, cycle shorts, new saddle, nothing worked for me. Before I moved down to England I cycled from my house in Glasgow to Loch Lomond and had to phone my wife to come and get me halfway back; I could go no further!!!
Wasn't for me.
gosh mikey, that's not too cool
actually if you hang in there and go at it slowly I think over time you'll be a biker
heck I'm in my mid 50's and I can go 6 hours on bicycle, but recently the sun is a bit too hot for me, so I should say during peak summer , maybe now 3 hours
not sure if I read it right
but do you have an online music store, thought I may have seen it in someones post
got to thinking
for Christmas I buy guitar strings either or for both acoustic and electric
for my birthday (June) I buy myself a birthday present "strings" again
so I guess for me twice a year
luvvvvvit wrote:A great website for guitarists to practice playing with guitar backing tracks there are a few out there but i do like this one www.rockbackingtracks.co.uk see what you think, do you know of any other good sites for backing track music.
Pity you have to pay for the tracks- Bluesblast has heaps of slow and fast blues backing tracks for free if blues is your thing.

Excellent stuff...
Definitely. What sort of stuff have you been writing?
I write country, pop (love stuff) and lyrics that have an international feel in their meanings. I've tried one jazz lyric song, but I'm still searching for the right chords to play it in. Has like a dream like feel to it. Any suggestions on chords that I could you would be appreciated.
thanks
I do like riding though I haven't done it for a couple of years. I was actually thinking about getting a bike next weekend as my son is old enough too sit in a childs seat on the back and he would really enjoy going out.
Also I need to get fit. All I do is sit around in an office all day!
Riding a bike with your child on it is fun. Used to put the daughter on the frame sideways and go to the library when she was 5. I now have an all terrain bike, maybe they are called city/mountain bike. Nice bike, cost under 300 bucks too!
Any of you here ride a bicycle. Been riding a bike now for nearly 20 years and love it. Today I went for a ride around the rice paddies and saw the damage the heavy rains caused. Not only to the rice, but the melons, cucumbers and other vegetables.
I can go for a round trip of 6 hours on a Sunday, but I think this hot asia sun is starting to get to me a bit. Need to brings a bigger water bottle
Great resource, John- well laid out and easy to follow for even beginners . Thanks for posting this.
glad you like it
it really has a lot to offer and the site over the last 2 years has gotten better and added new stuff
hope you and your students like the site
I guess you are right, but I think one must come up with a plan, like a builder does. Its kind of an instant thought and if you connect with that thought then you develope the song from there. If you start out with the title, then that gives you a foundation to work on, kind of like a blueprint. Basically one should keep their imagination flowing till the song is completed
I've been using the Made in China stuff for years and I don't seem to have a problem. Did buy a Fender cord a couple of times and they wear out just like any other cord I've bought. But really is there a big difference in these 40 dollar guitar cords verses these 3 to 5 dollar ones
what do you think the kind of guitar i should buy when i want to learn guitar. since i really am interested and when i got the money i will surely want to learn or have some self study with it. i want to spend some little tiem with it every day. are all guitars the same. i mean the traditional guitar. not the electric guitar. cause i am just beginner. i prefer the non electric guitar.
try to find one that has a comfortable neck, if the strings are a bit to heavy gauge, ask the music store to put a lighter sent, maybe even 9 to start off with
I then go for the tone of the guitar, many guitars made in asia still use real wood and can be had for under 400 bucks and the tone with a good set of strings you might find impressive
This site will keep you or your students very busy. I think it is one of the best on the web. So much on this site too!
