This is an interesting article what may happen

I've seen gas go up so quickly that the food prices had to go up also, which it did.  When food rises too quickly, most stores will tell that shoplifting is at an all time high, whether it be an 80 year old lady or a teenager and this to affects the increase of prices.  Within the last 2 years food prices have gone up as much as 43% on staple items.  This article tells me one thing: hope that you own some land and grow and can your food. I think that all nations fall apart very quickly when it can't grow enough food. China has double its imports from Canada by about 50% this should tell us too that they can't grow enough

I like Foghat "rock and roll outlaw"  mostly because it has more than one song on the album that I like.   I just looked at it and I guess I bought it in 1974, gosh, time flies by fast

what are your thoughts of this never ending war/conflict or what ever name the US wants to call it.

Something just doesn't seem right.  American geologist find the mineral sites and the Chinese get the exclusive right to mine them. And of course our men and women are there to fight.... what are they calling it these days.

cry baby original
rp 50 digi tech
dod  fx-55-B  super distortion   (not sure if these are being made anymore)
Boss  digital delay dd-3

can't really think of any other pedal I'd like to buy, but maybe upgrade the rp 50 to a newer model

Where do you do your busking?

Actually I don't do any busking, but what I've heard from people that have tried it in the major cities, the income can be dang good. Those 100 yen add up pretty fast.

What I am doing is putting some effort into my songwriting to take to a commercial level. Well, one shouldn't give up hope.

I think it comes  down to what we really like during our childhood. And since all or most guitarist were playing Fenders and Gibsons, I think it stuck in my mind that there are only a few "real" guitars out there.  Although this is not the case these days, but most people still want a real Fender, Gibson and a Martin

Actually I did buy myself an acoustic guitar. I got a Dean acoustic, well electro acoustic as it does have the pickup built in though I doubt I will use this much.

It looks nice and plays nice though I think I will be changing the strings to something a little lighter.

Changing the strings to 9 really help me out. I just don't care for the 10 on an acoustic. Most people say you lose a bit of tone, but with a pickup on it, I like what's coming out from have 9  and I think a 42 for the top

congrats on your new guitar too

Watermelon John - Do you write your own music?

Hi Olly

I write my own songs. I started writing because I wanted to do something. I had this Fender sitting in my closet for over 7 years, so I said to myself, why don't you write songs. You did like to write lyrics when you were 12.  Well, I started with one song and finished it. And it came easy. Although recently I haven't wrote a song, I am now rewriting my stuff and well, lets see if my childhood dream comes true for me.

Don't know if you bought your guitar yet, but an S. Yairi made in Indonesia can be bought for about 300 bucks and the mahogany wood is so beautiful and the tone is very good too.

If songwriting comes easy for you, then you can probably say you have talent.
When starting to write a song, we look for imagination and in most cases a touch of feelings.  Always try to finish a new song that you are working before going to another. Makes sense, but from what I  read very few songwriters really can  do it.

Here is one of my only recordings I did on the guitar. This was several years ago now and was just a one off take that I called Amazing as I was so pleased to have finally recorded something that was in a kind of song format.

Cost $79 bucks at Guitar Center in the states, and that was some 20 years ago

I've got a British made Marshall with a Celestion Vintage 30 in it.  Looks new but has aged. Any one here know what they sell for these days.  Are these amps collectors today, because all the low end amps are made in Vietnam these days

Thanks for the welcome guys

Yep, live in the rural area of Japan where it is peaceful. No hustle or bustle. Do need to by a Pignose amp for that tele of mine.

I own what they call (no longer though) a tele delux plus  (1992) model
To tell you the truth it looks like it was sprayed painted in  someones backyard in Mexico. This is a tele delux plus. Not sure what they sell for today, but my guess is around $2000 bucks. I bought it because of the sound , that can not be duplicated by any other guitar company, they may come close and that is about it. So if you want that American Tele sound , invest your money and buy a real American Tele. All the others only come close, they just don't have that magic

Well I live in the land of sushi and manga, but really from the states.
I enjoy writing my own stuff, because trying to play others is , well I never really could do it well enough.  So I was just determined to do my own stuff with my ability.  I'm just a player who sits outside in the evening and strums and picks, but I don't sing my songs out loud.

hope to meet  you all and become friends

oh yeah, I should be retired, but have to keep plugg'n away to make an income

nice to meet you all
