Its not over yet.......................ECU needs replacing at a cost of £300 default/sad  default/sad

I can't blame the garage nither.. The auto electrician I have had out today told me whats been replaced and what codes it giving off  and said

"Siemans 71 ECU"... "10 years old".. There a nice earner at the min"

I told him about the garage and he said the ECU will have been amitting those codes in error.  They will have never figured it out.....

Yet the mechanic regarding vauxhall parts was right.. Vauxhall use either a bosch electric system or some times siemans.... As you guessed mines siemans...

£700 down in 2 months very nice not default/sad  default/sad

Very Nice mate, whats that axe there???

And welcome

Well thanks to lads at Vauxhall forum it seems to be sorted.. Heres my Last post...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well all seems fine, New Air Mass flow meter from Vauxhall. The true test will be in the Morning. I have a £300 labour credit note, the best I could do, for the all the messing about.

The machanic who told me about the air mass flow meter needing to be vauxhall had seen the same problem on a Tigra once and just like mine the problem went on and on no matter what they did. The only saving grace for the garage my car was at is that all this happened with the Tigra when he worked at another garage so they had not experianced it them selfs.

I did 2 up the owner on my bike when giving him a left back to the garage and showed him just how powerful a   Yamaha R1 is compared to his shitty scooby. I managed to stick it right down in a corner and think I scared the shit out of him judging how i felt is wieght on the back pulling the other way and by how fast he jumped off bike when we arrived back. MMMMMMMMMMM payback R1 Style.

I have also been told the air mass flow meter can trick the ECU into believing the car is under powered and cause the traction control to kick in, anyone know if this is right????

So heres hoping....

Thanks for the help guys, the pedel trick post seems to have done the job where the Garage and tech 2 guy failed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have posted below a post on another forum.  Its about whats been going on with my car.. Theres a bit more to it, but I know i go on a bit  default/wink  so I tried to keep it simple. The main thing I will say here is not  mentioned in the post below is I paid for the parts as they where fitted 1 at a time as aparenty the garage could only replace a part a repair code at a time. I have delt with them in the past and thought we had a relationship of trust but you live and learn.

Any how read on..........

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Its a Long Story but I will try to keep it short.

I bought the car 18 months ago and all was well up untill May when the car on start up was lumpy and if you pressed the throttle the engine would die. Yet, if the car was left on tick over for a few mins every thing would return to normal. However, when driving after the lumpy start the car would hold back at about 4-5000 revs.

Off to the garage it went.... They replaced air mass flow meter, coil pack, lambarda censor, crankshaft censor. They assured me all was fixed and the engine codes indicated all the above needed replcing. However, £482 later it wasn't, the holding back had gone but the bad cold starting remained.

I needed the car so ran it until it did something completly new. When driving under normal condition the traction control light came on and the revs died. A quick restart and it returns to normal. This new problem continued and it got to the point where the loss of power nearly caused an accedent.

It went back to the garage 2 weeks ago and they told me it is showing no codes so they don't know, but if I wait till 2 weeks on friday, today, a bloke with "tech 2"?? will tell the the problem.

So today I get a phone call telling me the tech 2 bloke has been and there are no codes, but the last car he had doing this needed a fuel attenuator valve, which is the fuel tank.

The deal I had struck with the garage for there poor service in the past was I buy the part they will fit it free. So I ring a local secound hand parts Vauxhall scrap yard, who tell me there is no such part. I phoned the service center at a vauxhall main dealer and they confirmed,The man on the phone even said I will go get an old timer see if he knows...He reclalled them been on Vauxhalls some 20 years ago.

At this point me head went I jumpped on my motorbike with the intention of feeding my armour plated glove to the garage owner in one mouth full with my hand still in it.

I got there and without needing to feed him the glove, the owner bar faced admitted no one had a clue and he would gladdy fix the car for free if I could tell him the fault.

So here I am.

Help please.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think they milked me for £482 over the past 2 months without a clue whats wrong with the car. Because I am easy going and always polite and understanding, when the chips where down for them they then thought send him to find a part he won't get so we can buy more time.

Yes I am an AC/DC nut.

One of first songs I learnt was "You Shock Me All Night Long".

Since then I have discovered many songs using the G,C,D progession.

I have yet too find one that surpass's "You Shock Me All Night Long".

I think that song was the bar set....Anyone any opinions.....

For those of you that know I have been working on a new business venture. I have come up with a boost pedal. It is all point to point wired  on a turret board. The components on the turret board are not the cheap ones you find in a lot of pedals these days. Every aspect of the build is done by hand.

Here is the first prototype.
