Thanks Olly,
That's so kind of you.
We try to record as much as we can, but I wish we had more time.
I think you need to be a teenager to have a touring band with projects and all the rest. I do miss playing live with a full band, but you can't always get what you want as MIck taught us.
But we are lucky enough to work with a fantastic sound engineer. And that's really something!

Hi,
May I introduce my latest work with a Spanish guitar. It's called THE BUG What do you think? Any thoughts are welcome, even harsh critique. I’ve worked so much on this one that I'm no longer able to listen to it with an open ear myself. As well as being the guitar player I'm also the composer of this song.

The bug
Hey, I was fine!
Chatting with my girlfriends
And sipping at my wine.
Now, here's this bloke!
He's getting on my nerves
Is this somebody's joke?
He looks like a blind man
who must have dressed alone
He thinks he's a super hero
But My he's badly drawn.
Chorus:
This is much more than I can take
How can I make him take a break
Just a bug in the jungle
But he makes me sick
I have had the time to count his hairs,
To check the fire exit
To see how the others are happy where he is not
St Francis would have known
how you could trick this creature
to leave me on my own.
But he goes on talking
and even with his hands
if I could keep on walking
I'd be in Wonderland!
Chorus:
This is much more than I can take
How can I make him take a break
Just a bug in the jungle
But he makes me sick
Oh, if only he would go away!
Maybe a Chinese torture treatment
Wouldn't make him want to stay
Or if I could feed him to the rats
Anything at all, not to have to suffer that
What on earth could I have done
to always get the worst?
If I had a magic cure,
at last my freedom would come first!
Chorus:
This is much more than I can take
How can I make him take a break
Just a bug in the jungle
But he makes me sick

Hi Alun,
I’m with Olly. Why don’t you make a complete song out of it? That could be very nice.

Hi Olly
Sounds great!
The riff is very good, but what kills me is the first melody right after the riff. It sounds cooler. The playing of the riff could be a bit more bluesy and laidback with a kind of Billy Gibbons feeling. But that’s a detail because it sounds awesome the way it is.

"When you going to post some more of your stuff"
Soon, I hope. We are working hard on a couple of new songs, but for the moment we are mostly busy with a piano tune with no guitar, so I couldn't post it to this forum. Anyway, that finished, which ought to be soon, I will finish an instrumental piece with a lot of percussions and, for the first time, me on an electric guitar. I hope I'll have your opinion about it, Watermelon, because I'm new at it,.

Thank you Eric,
I have listened to your music and I must say that you are such a brilliant guitar player. I don't understand how you do it and the sound of it is exquisite. Moreover, I love the rythm you put into it.
I should definitely follow your lessons.

Hi Johnny,
Thank you for your nice comment. We just started a facebook fan page three days ago. My Band is called Nil Aramis.

I haven’t had any time to advertise for it because of the long week end we have had here, so you will be our first fan. We are so pleased. Thanks again!

Olly,
I can’t say if it’s easier or more difficult now. It’s just different. It’s easier because I’m better (not good, just better). And I know how to deal with certain things. But it’s more difficult because I’m more demanding and I’m constantly trying to improve. So yes, it has changed. To mention one example I try to find some more unexpected melodies (the B and C part of Space trip). At the beginning, I was just happy with any melody.

As I said in another post, I stopped for a while but now I’m back in business. And I hope to play live soon.
You can see me and my band on stage (with playback for a local TV show) here

Well, I composed and recorded about fourty songs a few years ago. Some of them I still like, but I stopped music for a while and now it’s a new start for me. So I prefer not to talk about the past. I still have an «old» song on the internet that you can find here:

You can criticize it.
And Yes, I’m working on several songs nowadays. I’ll come back here in search of your precious opinion for that, dear colleagues. In the meanwhile, if you are a facebook kind of person, you can follow my work and my band here:

Re: Stage Fright (13 replies, posted in Playing Live / Gigging)
I used to play live for small audiences in the past. It was terrifying, but I enjoyed it. Also, I have to say I was lucky, because the singer I was playing with was a real good frontwoman.
So she did most of the job.

Thanks for your nice comments.
Yes Watermelon, it's a Seagull. Oddly, in my hands , it sounded better than a Martin or a Taylor,
which would have cost twice the price. Lucky me! And I think you might be right for the background, but I didn't mix this sound so I just accepted it.
Olly, I always start with the music only and the lyrics come afterwards. The other way around is impossible for me. I had the first two bars with the little chromatic part in mind for a while
and when I took the guitar the complete first part came to me very easily. I spent more time finding the slower part as my first ideas were nothing but common melodies. As a result I ended up
working really hard to find something
more original.
And thanks for doing this forum. That's admirable to be a site administrator!

Hi everyone,
This is a song I composed and performed with a Swedish singer. It's a rehearsal of a song we will record soon with very different arrangements.
Feedback is more than welcome.
Thanks

Topic: Hi everyone (4 replies, posted in Introduce yourself)
I'm a French guitar player and composer. Basically, I'm an acoustic player although I'm using the electric guitar more extensively than before.
I'm mostly a rythmic player (I'm a bass player as well) but trying
more and more to go solo.
I'm here to share some experiences, find tips and advice and to share music as well. I also hope to listen to new talents, new composers, new guitar players and also get your opinion on
what I'm doing.
See you around!
