Ive thought about getting a tube screamer for years but couple of years ago a pal sold me his RAT pedal. I like it cos its so controllable......from pretty clean to ultimate shred. To those who know....is a Tubescreamer much better than Rat..or just different?  Jeff Beck used to swear by his RAT.

Ive found D`Adarrio strings to be virtually indestructible and are good intonation for ( true note )They do accoustic and electric.About £6.50 a set for electric...acc are dearer.

i've recently began to play the guitar.. well not play, but attempt to ! picked up a 2nd hand guitar in a pawn shop for 50 quid http://www.cashexpress.fr/ and i've been told the strings need to be changed. how do i go about doing this and why do they have to be changed ? well one of them is now broken but it wasnt at the time so why would they need to be changed ? and if they do, how often is the general time frame ? dont know much about guitars considering im a beginner ! default/sad

Deinitely Jap. I thought at first Teisco but I think it is a Kay, sometimes logo is a K in a circle I think. If all else fails with playability these old Japs make terrific Slide guitars as the pick ups are quite thick and warm generally. and you dont have to worry bout necks. Sometimes the more banana shaped the better. If you dont play slide give it a go.DADACD is a quirky tuning I like . Its a bit on the dark side though.

Ive looked at the website ( soundpad) and they have 2 1979 American Strats. £ 1,199 each.

I have first dibs on a Fender 1978 Strat in natural finish for £750. It needs a total refret estimated at £160 and its a bit on the heavy side.

Does anyone have an opinion on how much it would be worth after the refret?
