I'll tell you if you really want to know.  But I expect it to be received as controversial, as Fender is one of many people's "Sacred Cow's" that I'd be tipping over.

Before I do so, tell me a little bit about your background and playing as a musician, and the depth of your association with Fender products.  I don't want to offend people, needlessly.

Instructor

Actually I really don't think I need to know, because you are spouting crap, I've never known anyone in my 61yrs, who's done so much, knows so much, met so many famous people, knows so much about everything, and can not only do everything, but can do it better than anyone else, And as for my background, you really wouldn't want to know, I've enjoyed my time on this forum, and have chatted with some good and friendly fellow musicians, but this is where I sign out.

Sorry to a fend the fender purist.

I believe they have a market and won't vary from it.

Fair comment, No offence taken.

For a beginner,  Em, and then this one 2x0200 so, a D 6/9.  You can certainly extend harmonization to the chords you just named, but for beginners and strummers alike this is a great first song.

I always play a clip on YouTube for those who have never heard the song, so they can get a sense of it.

Instructor

No, I can't make it work with two chords, and I'm a strummer,
post your link for youtube, and I'll give it a look.  default/hmm

MY best suggestion is don't buy a Fender.  Get a Seymour Duncan Antiquity set in that, a nice well made Maple neck, and some Goteh or Grover Tuners, and you'll be in heaven.

Discuss:  What's the problem with Fender?

I saw a '64 Telecaster for sale in a shop yesterday for £2000 (about 3500 australian bucks).

Would anyone consider paying that kind of money for it? Not that I'm in cahoots with the shop owner, I'm just trying to fathom why someone would want to pay that kind of money for a second-hand guitar. What makes them so special?

Not for anything that said Fender on it.

For every dime I could put into a Fender, I could buy a guitar that from the ground up slays every aspect of a Fender, like a G&L ASAT, or a Bluesboy, or....

In my opinion this idiot should be blocked, as they are obviously and blatantly trying to interfere and recruit,,

Amen to that.

Gehad brother.

I don't understand your anger, you are free to read or ignore whatever you want but you have no right to lie to prevent the others from reading something you dislike .
we live in an open world now. everyone is free to decide whatever he likes or dislikes..

Be fair

Yes you are right, I'm free to read or ignore whatever I want, as I've already said this is a forum for guitarists, not preachers, So I read whats going on here, because I want to,
If I wanted to read about religion I would join a religious forum, But I don't want to, so please stop trying to push your beliefs on me, That;s what makes me angry, And what lies am I telling, you are not a musician so what reasons do you have to even be on this forum?...........
