Hi Alun,
I am into Guitar music. What about you?

Yup, Guitar music too,,,  default/hmm

Hi Apache,  default/smile  getting into a rut with guitar is quite normal, when it happens to me I find just playing some completely different tunes is good therapy, or just find some obscure chord shapes and practice them,  default/cool I really think it the tunes we play that get us into the rut, not the actual guitar, so change is good,, default/wink

Absolutely,,,,,,,, But I don't know if it's a wise move to swap out the Gibson Humbuckers,  default/hmm

Hi James, this is an interesting one, but I have to say the Wilkinson all the way in my humble opinion,  default/hmm
The actual tone's are about the same, but the Wilkinson is streets ahead on clarity, seems to separate the strings better, very nice pick up,  default/cool
But that said,  default/roll  I'm a bit of a purist, I buy Fender because I love the feel and sound, it sort of seems pointless to buy an expensive guitar then change bits on it, I bet you bought your Gibbo because you liked the sound (Angus)!!!! So the question you have to ask yourself is, if I swap the p/ups will it still sound like a Gibson?

Light strings = easier to play, but some would say they lose a bit of tone, I would say they just sound different, Heavier strings = good tone, but again I would say different, but certainly more power to the fingers needed to fret the heavier gauges, trust your fingers and ears, and go with whatever your happy with.  default/cool

No transition to make Olly, just the same as normal guitar, just less strings, I love the bass for improvising great fun, and if you prefer to use a pick then use it,  default/smile  don't read what other people do, Do what you want to do, dare to be different.

Well played James, Annie and the Blackstar sound like a perfectly matched couple, sweet tones,  default/smile and a nice run of chords you're using there, spot on,

This is quite normal James,  default/big_smile  you can't fight it, don't even try,  default/tongue just roll with it, if the Greg Bennet does it for you then so be it, Brand and price isn't the be all and end all,
