I run to a timetable. and yes mostly students between 3 and 8.30. but as i teach students of all ages ( 7 - 70 ), i get a lot of daytime students. Now as far as timtabling goes, well each student has a regular slot, and all other activities are worked around it. I am also flexable, in as much that i do usually have 4 or 5 empty slots during the week, so i can always rearrange a lesson when needed.
I have seen many online lessons, and some are good and some are bad. I have taken on students that have done a course of online lessons. But at the end of the day you cannot beat the human touch, the spontaneity, the discourse and most important of all the FUN. learning should be fun, and i make sure my lessons are always fun, it should be fun to learn, in most cases my students who learn online have found online learning a chore, and hard going, and because to a certain point a lot lack self didipline, and motivation, they end up going to a teacher, because a teacher will give them that encouragement, and motivation to keep playing.
Every student has their own pace of learning, and a good teacher will take that into consideration when working with a student. I have taught privately, in schools, and at Adult Education for over 12 years, you learn a lot about human nature when teaching, and that contact when teaching is very important IMO.
However i do see where you are coming from, and i can see the advantages of learning online, but i think the disadvantages far out-way the advantages. But at the end of the day, it,s whatever suits the student best, and if you do have self disapline then it could work very well, but human nature being what it is, most people go into these things with the best intentions, but never reach the end, which is where I come in, and give them the push they need.

I got some songs you could put some lead to if you wish, just a matter of finding time to lay a track down

Also my rhythm is good because i started out as a drummer, and now once again i am a drummer. however, my biggest influence to take up guitar is Alun. 20 something years ago. default/big_smile

Great idea, but nothing beat one to one, face to face teacher, student tuition.

Anyways i know with my students they get that, plus, videos, MP3s, and backing tracks. All they have to do is turn up with a USB memory stick. for this i charge $120 a month.  default/big_smile

The song has never been dumped or wasted. I play it on a regular basis, when i am playing songs to myself. I enjoy it and identify with it. Alan has published it on this forum, so that is an end of it. I respect Aluns wish not to put it on here, and he has replied by doing it himself.
I know i chose to publish some song and not others, because they are to personal to myself. But they are never wasted as long as i keep playing them. default/big_smile

Yes i did, i sat by a section of it, and recorded a 5 min piece. The waterfall itself is about a mile long before it runs into Ullswater.

http://s15.postimage.org/mjw8dmp87/ALDEN_MAYFAIR.jpg
ALDEN MAYFAIR.  i bought this guitar off eBay, 125 pounds. Fantastic Jazz Box, great sound and playability, designed in the UK.

http://s16.postimage.org/5ojszc0n5/BC_RICH.jpg

BC Rich, Horrible thing, Bought off eBay for 95 pounds, sold it 2 weeks later for 120 pounds on eBay.

http://s18.postimage.org/qbv2liyj9/BURNS_STEER.jpg
Burns Steer, I paid 150 pounds for this, and kept it for a year before putting back on eBay for 250 pounds, ended up swapping it for an Epiphone Sheiton. despite it's odd looks, it was a fantastic guitar to play, and it sounded amazing.

http://s18.postimage.org/jgva0krj9/BURNS_STRAT_AND_STEER.jpg
Burns Strat. This is the one with the Scroll Headstock. Lovely guitar, and sounded awsome.

http://s13.postimage.org/y0o8m97hf/DALLAS_ARCHTOP_ACOUSTIC.jpg
This is a Dallas Archtop, circa early 60s, i got this off eBay for the amazing price of 65 pounds if memory serves. Anyways, this guitar had the most amazing sound, like no acoustic i have ever come across before or since. A deep resonant sound, it also had the thickest neck i have ever come across. I regret selling it to this day, but i did get 250 pounds for it, and i feel i could have got more.

http://s13.postimage.org/5t5owy7tv/DANELECTRO_CONVERTABLE.jpg
Danelectro Convertable. Love Dano,s this one i used to do slide on, the sound was gorgeous, gave a real bluesey sound.

http://s18.postimage.org/ljug1kimt/Danelectro_Inuendo.jpg
Danelectro Inuendo. Liked this one a lot, i think i paid around 90 pounds for this. This guitar has built in Chorus, Overdrive and  Echo. Overdrive caused a lot of buzzing, but apart from that, quite a remarkable guitar.

http://s14.postimage.org/3rxovwg19/DANELECTRO_U2.jpg
Danelectro U2. I absolutely loved this guitar, saw me through 3 year at music college(i was 40 when i went back to college), i kept it right up untill i emigrated to Australia, so making it the longest surviving guitar in my collection, apart from my Thinline Tele, which i still have.

http://s16.postimage.org/5l3roazb5/Dean.jpg
Dean. kept this about a year, and sold it on making a small loss. Quite an unremarkable guitar in every sense. Dunno why i bought it really.

http://s13.postimage.org/73d5muxb7/EKO_VIOLIN_12_STRING.jpg
EKO 12 string Violin Guitar. This i bought off eBay for 250 pound, i bought it out of curiosity more than any other reason. I really liked this guitar and played it a lot. Had a great sound, and was a real pleasure to play. sold it for around the same price i paid.

http://s10.postimage.org/kea0llm1h/EKO_YM_STRAT_WITH_SCALLOPED_FRETS.jpg
EKO Yngwie Malmsteen Strat. This had scalloped frets, so i was interestd to see how it would play, but not being a shredder, i saw little use for this guitar. Sold it on for a small profit.

http://s13.postimage.org/f06tmknj7/EPIPHONE_BLACK_BEAUTY.jpg
Epiphone Black Beauty. What can you say about this guitar, better than a Gibson Classic, and a real joy to play. Alun had the real deal, a Gibson Black Beauty, and even he agreed this guitar was something special.

http://s15.postimage.org/qz3uvlpaf/EPIPHONE_ES175_MADE_IN_NASHVILLE.jpg
Epiphone ES 175. This bore the mark of EPI on the headstock, and was made in Nashville Tennessee. Epiphone at it's best.

http://s16.postimage.org/4075cotap/EPIPHONE_PEARL.jpg
Epiphone Pearl. Made by Epiphone for Epiphone, in other words, this was not a Gibson copy, but one of their own. There were 200 made in white, and 200 made in Black. This one was number 186. Beautiful, guitar, and sounded awesome.

http://s18.postimage.org/9i4ce8dwl/EPIPHONE_SHERATON.jpg
Epiphone Sheriton. This is the baby i swapped my burns for, best deal i ever made. Sold it before i emigrated, i want another one.

http://s8.postimage.org/qg7ji3ar5/Fender_Strat_Pearl.jpg
Japanese Fender, Bought it to turn a profit, and i most certainly did. Flip Flop paint job in mint green and pink, all gold hardware, and great sound and playability.

http://s18.postimage.org/gxzh5nt5x/Fender_TC90_2.jpg
Fender TC 90. One of my biggest regrets in emigrating was selling this little jewel. The TC 90 was a mish mash of different guitars, with the double horn telecaster thinline body, the Gibson style bridge set up and junior style scratchplate, and of course the creamy P 90s. Also the glued in set neck with the moulded heel, that fitted so well into the palm of your hand when soloing in the upper reaches of the neck. Awesome seems an understatement. and all out of the Korean Fender factory. life is full of suprises.

http://s10.postimage.org/4sok7a1n9/EPIPHONE_POPA_CHUBBY.jpg
Epiphone Popa Chubby. the one my wife calls the "rude" guitar. Another regretfull sale, what with the P 90s, and Korina body, this guitar was made for rockin' out some soulful electric blues.

http://s12.postimage.org/u4b6nbx49/Fender_Telecaster_Thineline.jpg
Fender Telecaster Thinline LTD (MIJ) This is the guitar i call the "wife" had her for 8 years and paid 750 pounds for her, from Mikes Music in Bognor Regis. I got this just in time as one of the last (made for Japanese market only) to come off the production line. It is one of the most versatile guitars i have owned, and one of only 4 guitars i took with me to Australia when i emigrated. She is my weapon of choice, and still used every day in my work as a guitar teacher. she is a bit life an old glove in as much she fits me, and my personality perfectly. If i was to have to give up all my guitars i have now save 1, then this is the one. I cannot praise her enough.

http://s13.postimage.org/pzn7ar5tf/Gibson_SG_Junior.jpg
Gibson SG Junior. Another guitar to Emigrate with me. Out of all the Gibsons i have owned or tried, this is the runaway best. Slim wide neck, and single P 90 (yes i love P 90s) this guitar was the mistress. I say was, because last year i sold her for a huge profit, so i could buy and electric drum kit, and refurbish an old kit that was given to me last year, oh and i also bought a Squier Duo Sonic from what i made on the SG.

http://s18.postimage.org/zeg3r94yt/GIBSON_SG_SPECIAL.jpg
Gibson SG Special. Nothing Special.

http://s14.postimage.org/agq7x0egt/Gibson_Les_Paul_Faded_Junior.jpg
Gibson Les Paul Faded Junior. Not a bad guitar, but a little overated for what they are. You can get a better guitar for half the price.

http://s15.postimage.org/wmj1vf29z/Fender_Black_Strat.jpg
Mexican Fender Strat. Another Guitar that did the emigrating thing with me. I sort of gave it to my wife as an engagement present, so it will never get sold. But i like it, it's a real nice guitar to play. Spends most of it's time in open G tuning. great for playing Stones, and slide.

http://s15.postimage.org/qylxw0cp3/Gibson_L6_S.jpg
Gibson L6-S. I bought this off a guy in America, had a broken neck in the past, but it had been fixed, although the scars still showed. A nice guitar, and fun to play. When i sold it i doubled my money.

http://s15.postimage.org/io4q1x6iv/GODIN_RADIATOR.jpg
Godin Radiator. Strange name for a guitar, but don't let that put you off. These are wonderful guitars, both in playability and in sound.

http://s15.postimage.org/4go84r8lj/HOHNER_HB35.jpg
Hohner HB35. This was my favourite 335 to play, and stayed in my collection for 5 years, only to become another emigration sell off victim. I do miss it.

http://s14.postimage.org/8hj9ggful/Ozark_Resonator.jpg
Ozark Resonator. great fun guitar for playing slide.

http://s13.postimage.org/6gnnyiddf/SCHECTER_HELLCAT.jpg
Schecter Hell Cat. Great guitar, fun to play with a great sound for playing hard rock or metal. I ended up with 2 of these, because i found another on eBay with a stupidly low start price, and no bidders 10 mins before the end of the bidding.

http://s13.postimage.org/640v62khf/Squier_51.jpg
Squier 51, with the strat body, tele neck, and HS setup, this things were ripe for customising, and they certainly were as a whole culture grew around these cheap and hugly popular guitar. I wish i had hung on to the 2 i bought, coz they are fetching silly money now.

WELL, thats just a few of the 400 and something guitars that i bought on ebay through trading, and keeping my eye open for a keen bargain, and then selling them on at a profit.

I will leave you with a pair of Squiers that i really enjoyed.

http://s11.postimage.org/vs22ddza7/SQUIER_CUSTOM_STRATS.jpg

Oh and my Yamaha APX pair, which were my working Acoustics.

So now i am building them instead.

Actually, as it turns out, i end up spending a good deal more on building than buying a guitar, but wheres the fun in just buying. I source most of my parts on ebay, and assemble them when all the parts are together. But it still takes a couple of months, because spraying and lacquering takes up most of the time. So whats the advantage of building your own guitar? Well you can put together your own spec, and create your own sound.

Here are some past builds.

http://s7.postimage.org/3sosmxpbr/Fender_Homebuilt_Strat.jpg

Body came from Axesrus.com, Mexican Fender neck from ebay. Pickups are a Fender Chrome Lace at the neck, Duckbucker in the middle, and Dimarzio stacked humbucker in bridge position. Hardware includes graphite string trees, nut and saddles, and Grover locking tuners. Scratchplate is abelone, and the bottom tone knob is actually and "Eric Clapton Crossroads" 5 position overdrive switch.

http://s13.postimage.org/qpftk40lv/FENDER_TELECASTER_THINLINE_HOME_BUILT.jpg

This is my version of a Tele Thinline. I striped and resprayed a generic thinline body, and bought a "Tokai" Tele neck, which i re lacquered, and sprayed the headstock to match the body. The pickups were a matching set of Zebras, and i cannot remember for the life of me the make.

http://s9.postimage.org/5matav5yz/SQUIER_STRAT_HARDTAIL.jpg

This little project i spent the least amount of money and time on. Inspired by a Squier "Tom Delonge" Strat i used to own The body is an old Squier body, and the neck i bought online from a place in New Zealand. The scratchplate was from ebay, and the pickup is an 18.5 humbucker i bought from a site in Canada. Hardtail bridge, and all gold hardware, including Kluson tuners.

http://s16.postimage.org/3y8l37bch/HOMADE_STRAT.jpg

This is the first guitar i ever put together. The Neck is a Tokia second, and the body fron axesrus. You will recognise the scratchplate and pickup setup from the red strat, as i swapped them over before selling this guitar, as i prefered the red strat, but this setup. I fitted a roller nut in the neck, and Wilkinson tuners. The setup i refitted into this guitar was from the plate in the picture below, which consisted of,  In neck position an H&A, middle is a Fender Lace Sensor, and bridge is a 70s Bill Lawrence Hotrails Humbucker.

I have 2 other projects on the go, One features a Martin Stinger Strat body, with a strat style nech, and HSS setup, which is near completion, and my latest "Nordicaster", another strat, which will be blond with a wooden scratchplate, and an HSS setup as well.

have to disagree with you there. The DEA are solely responsible for world wide drug enforcement and work with governments to keep control over  keeping drugs off the streets. Also a stoned driver is just as likely to cause an accident as a drunk driver. The reason why more drunk drivers are caught, is because alcohol is legal. Here in South Australia weed used to be legal, untill about 10 years ago. Then accidents caused by stoned drivers, were just as common as accidents caused by drunk drivers.
