Ah what I do to record at home, how ive done it thorugh the years, from the classic taperecorder. to using an Alesis USB guitar to USB cable to right now...Using a Microphone I bought at wal-mart for 2 bucks( actual price was 15 but it was on clearance.) Iv'e used differnt programs some good some I wanna throw my pc out the window. To record now I use MAgix movie maker(it acutlly does good captureing the sound and the Wal-mart mic. Now the mic does good as well considerng what it is. recording at a set distance to avoid to much hiss and noise I can record "clean" playing quit well. Now when I play my fave style,Metal thats when it gets ruff
Iv'e constintly been experimenting with this set up to get the optimal sound with what i got. Iv'e just now got back into playing to record songs and post to sound cloud recently like withn the last 2 months, The music gear buying bug has hit me again haha. So I will upgrade to a bette recording setup hopefully within the year.
Well gotta roll-Thanx for reading:)

Probly once a month, I aks my Music store owner frind, to give what evers kinda budget and good for picking fast. whitch is usally Ernie balls or somthing like them. I wanted some new neon colored strings he carries. He said though the coloing chips off . I usally wear out the low E stirng cause of the picking strokes and speed building. Plus the sweat. Really I need to change them once a week. I'll have to change them befor I start recording on my new software next week.

When I first starting playing guitar, I recorded the old fashiend way, a tape recoder and then a mic hooked up to my PC.
Now for a couple years. I use an Alesis USB 1/4 cable. I found out if you plug the USB 1/4 end to the out of a pedal and the guitar into the in of the pedal the siganl is alot cleaner than just guitar straight into the computer. I use this set up for all my instriments and vocals. I use Roland cakewalk versaion 6, I dont really like it. Its interface is a pain and recording can be a chore. I have fooled around with Magix Music maker but that was when I was alot younger so I dont know how it records live music. I am expecting FL stuido Frutie edtion to come this Sat XD. I have used Fl Studio before and I love it. Besides metal I love hardcore and EBM electronic music so with the bass boost options I can get nice thumping beats. I'm currently working on a Metal project and so I'm experimetning with my "tools" to see how I can make it nice and crunchy and fast. I will begin recording on FL next week. I can't wait I hate cakewalk at the moment, Iv'e been able to record some alright songs with it. With FL though I  will have alot more control.

Hello default/cool

Nice to meet you:)

Oh yea, right now one of the most important things I got for effects is my Korg Tone works Pandora PX4D.
It has lots of effects and differnt amp modles and cabs. Since I mostly play metal, I love the stacked sound with a '80s British tone. I'm also a huge fan of delays as well. I'm hoping to get the Sonnus midi guitar device so I can play notes from my synth and Roland on my guitar XD
