Hi everybody. I’m an amateur “conservatory” player who, like many of us, am just one guitar set up away from World domination! I’ve just posted a query on Taylor GSMinis, re strings and set up. Hope someone can help….

I found the strings or height thereof to make pressing down harder than I want. To rectify, I swapped the factory gauge with a lighter gauge. They sound “melodious” but are a little too light for me. Can the action be lowered after re-I seating the factory gauge strings, and possibly the bridge as well, in a set up?

I have a Guild OM-150 CE guitar. It has a beautiful strum sound, but I’m a little disappointed with the hammer-on production. It could easily be me, as I have small hands, and not a great stretch. However. Has anyone ever tried lighter gauge strings on this guitar ?
