But if peachy as some friends that know a a little about guitars setting and adjustement, he can go check out used one with them... buzzing string, non-fonction pick-up etc etc are pretty unfun when you just buy an used guitar and want to enjoy it !! An new one, you have the warranty.
And for used guitar, it is preferable if you know the previous owner. Did he take care of his stuff ?? Some guitars have been beat up !! This can mean extra expenses !!

The only thing when you buy brands is that you can end up paying a lot for the name - as in you could get a low end fender of a high end lesser known name for the the same. I would choose the highest specs I could afford as ultimately the name does not make an excellent guitar - quality does.
I toltally agree with Olly about that... And as he said, try some different model in store... take your time !!
But, I disagree about buying second hand guitar. If you are a beginner, and don't know a lot about guitar, I suggest buying NEW... Warranty are not "transferable" they are valid only for the first guitar owner... and there is a lot of thing to check when buying used: neck angle, fret position etc etc etc....

Most of the guitars store here (Québec) offer this kind of payment... All guitars have an price tag showing the TOTAL price and under you have the 12 month payment option.... All that is need is your bank approuval...
This is nice because sometimes you see an guitar you are really interest at and don't have the money at this point, but with this payment option you can leave the store and bring her home !!!

I've post a little somethnig about them in the "Band" forum section...
Forgot to mention that they were suppose to do supertramp first part on Tour, but contract did'nt work because they sing in french and language was the problem.... They did an Tour in California, but as they sing in french, people did'nt understand the lyrics...

I play a lot of music my friend....
My favorite playing style is fingerpicking. I like to play blues.
Here's an idea of what I listen and play: Pink floyd, rolling stones, styx, supertramp, bob dylan, cat stevens, simon and garfunkel, kiss, ozzy, eric clapton, bob Marley, foreigner, led zeppelin etc... etc...
My biggest influence is HARMONIUM it is an french Québec band in the '70's ... Sergi Fiori is my guitar idol, he play guitars as anyone else...
I like to play Harmonium songs a lot...

This is my best sounding guitar... I play her very often, but I own so many guitars that I use everyone of them. It depend what type of song I want to play. I play my fender 12 string often too.
For my electrics, I have to admit that my favorite one is my SG-400 Vintage Worn Brown...
I like to play the HUMMINGBORD too... The neck slide pretty well.
For playing blues... I use my Washburn OE-30TS

Hi everyone... this one is an WASHBURN D2003S special edition limited. Mine is no.55 of 144... That is an limited rum model of 144. That one was built and ONLY sale in Canada. The rosette is amazing roman clock numbers. Fretboard inlay 2003 on the 12th fret. Back and side quilted ash maple. I've bought it in Rivière-du-Loup. I think that the retail price was something like 899$ can. plus taxes. But I've paid 500$ cash and trade an amp + an old guitar for this one. I really wanted her when I saw her in the store....

I play for many years... and as years go by, I've own a LOT of different guitars that I've sale. No I don't play in an band now... I play for my lady and my little girl Juliette (JUJU), who are my two best fans. Of course, I play for me for pleasure...
I use to have an Roland BR900-CD home recorder, but sell it... My younger brother run an professionnal recording studio in Montréal. Let just say we have some fun when I see him, but I see him about once every two years !! :cry:
