Re: left handed (40 replies, posted in Guitars)
I doubt it's just a gimmick. After all, there are actually left handed people in the world. Jimi basically made the instrument companies start making left handed guitars because they didn't make left handers when he started out, so he made his own from a right handed guitar.
Why on earth someone would want a left handed piano is beyond me.

Re: Hardbodied Acoustic Cutaway? (2 replies, posted in Guitars)
I've just bought a Takamine Jumbo G series Acoustic and it's got a nice sound, plugged in or just acoustic. From the sound your discribing, I'd say look at Jumbo acoustics, you'll be hard pushed to find a non-electric .with a cutaway though.

Re: Installing Pickups (1 replies, posted in Guitars)
Quite easy really, you need a salder Iron though. It's harder getting the old ones off than fitting the new ones.
I removed the pickups on my '63SG the other month to get them re wound and re conditioned. It was fairly easy re fitting them.

Re: Have you written any songs? (22 replies, posted in Songwriting on Guitar)
I'm not in a band at the moment but the previous bands I've been in I've found jamming in the studio we've came up with our best songs. Black Sabbath Paranoid springs to mind, they wrote that in a about 5 minutes jamming in the studio.

Re: Hi New & Learning (6 replies, posted in Introduce yourself)
Welcome Bainbridge,
You seem enthusiastic enough which is a really good thing, will keep you practicing for ages. I remember breaking my fingers in, getting them toughened up after hours of playing. When I played in a band once we used to do a cover of Freebird, used to kill the fingers, they started falling apart towards the end of the song, which is why we left it as an Encore.
Play around with the chords you've learnt, strumming different ways you'll be supprised how many variations you'll find. After all Status Quo have been doing it for years LOL.

Delboy.
