Topic: New Guitar...

Budget is around 200-250, I could be tempted to 300 but no more...

I just spent like £179 on a Fender Elec/Acou -

I feel I've totally wasted my money? Is it just the strings perhaps? or is this guitar jus a generic one with a generic sound?

A friend of mine advised to check these Guitars out, any thoughts?

Any thoughts? I have also liked the sound of a few Tanglewoods I've heard on YouTube, I just am not really happy with the sound my Fender gives off.

Go for the Yamaha FG, I have a Yamaha FG160, which I've owned over 30yrs, and everything on it is still original and still no signs of wear, I also have a Yamaha FG 411 12 string, I think you would need to spend serious money to get any better  default/smile

Yeah, the fender was bought on a whim really, waste of money I realise now. Seems to have a generic guitar sound rather than its own, if that makes sense?
You know anywhere online that may do it cheaper?

Hi  default/smile  just had a search  and you can get the FG 720s in natural from gak.co.uk for £198,  default/tongue

You used this site before? Is it a well known one? I really like the sunburst, is it worth the extra? Ahh.

No I've never shopped for a guitar online, I think if at all possible you should visit the shop and try before you buy, then you know your getting what you want,   default/cool
But to answer your question it is a reputable site they have shop's all over the place, may be worth looking for one close to you,
MMmm, as for the extra for sunburst,  default/hmm  I would pay it, I did for my Telecaster,  default/wink it's worth it,  default/tongue
