Topic: Multi effects dilemma

Hello all,

I have narrowed my list for a new floor mounted multi effects unit (having just sold my old Boss GX700 and Digitech Control 8 foot controller) down to the Digitech RP1000 and the Boss GT-10 with an outside chance of including the Vox Tonelab LE.

One thing I found in the RP1000 manual was the following:

Chorus/FX
The Chorus/FX row in the RP1000 is a multi-function module, allowing you to select Effect types such as Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Vibrato, Rotary Speaker, Tremolo, Panner, Envelope Filter, Detune, Whammy?, Pitch Shift, Detune, Harmony, OC Octaver and more. When the Chorus/FX row is selected, Knob 1 is used to choose the Effect type. Press this knob to turn these Effects on and off. Only one of the effects in this row can be used at a time.

This seems a bit crap, are the same limitations on the other systems mentioned?

The main thing is I am not a gigging guitarist, I only play guitar at home for a hobby, I do really like the RP1000. How limiting will the above lack of feature be for me do you think?
I know tone purists will say "NO" to a multi effects unit but space is a big issue here.

Please view http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYlVayitAXg and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=357C...feature=related

Please tell me which one and most importantly WHY? One thing to bear in mind is that I don't want to spend hours getting my tones so some half decent tones straight outta the box would be good.

Cheers

Phil
