Topic: Recording Equipment

Hi Can anyone give me some ideas please. I have just started playing guitar and can play a few songs.
I would like to be able to record them as MP3s. I would like a 4 or 8 track recorder for under £200 if possible that also has a drum machine and a few effects built in. Can anyone advise on a few makes models etc that is user friendly and for beginers?

thanks

Do you have a computer you could use? This will open up a much wider, expandable,  range of opportunity!

Re: Recording Equipment

Hi

Thanks the forum looks very useful.
yes I have a laptop that I can use I would like to record my guitar and vocals and then mess around with a few effects and lay down the drum tracks. I would then like to try writing my own songs.

Re: Recording Equipment

I use a tascam audio interface that I picked up for under £100 and it came with Cubase LE. I invested around £50 in getting Ezdrummer which I am very happy with. With the free plugins out there this is more than adaquate to get you up and running and, in my opinion, a far  better solution than getting some hardware device that you can not upgrade or alter the stock sounds.

Re: Recording Equipment

dead right...use cubase.....loads of goodies for recording etc...very user friendly
and a lot cheaper and flexible than going the hardware route...although hardware item will be required
initially

Re: Recording Equipment

I have a Boss Micro BR and it's very good as a portable 4 track recorder.
