Collaboration

Polys Idea of a collaboration song.

This is just a a suggestion. However, I like this idea.

Could Alun or Ricky B or perhaps the 2 of you work on a cord progression. Acoustic or electric, clean or dirty. I ask you to as I believe from samples you are the best rhythmic players. I can work on putting in a touch of lead, percussion. (Please no bar cords I struggle at best with them).

I am dyslexic so lyrics come easy to me, and I can come up with some strange ones at times. If I get stuck I can go look at my poster in the Living room of John Lennon for inspiration. Then we can all collaborate and polish them off.

We need a volunteer for drums.........Midi???????

I take it Poly will be the music engineer.........

And Olly can be the tea boy (bitch) since he is not about at the min and can't stand up for himself.

One last thing Alun I regret to inform you that your request for rose petals to be thrown on the floor before you as you enter the recording studio, by naked size 8 women is refused.

I can afford the women yet the rose petals are a fortune.

Despite not being around I still have to moderate every post ;)

I got some songs you could put some lead to if you wish, just a matter of finding time to lay a track down

Also my rhythm is good because i started out as a drummer, and now once again i am a drummer. however, my biggest influence to take up guitar is Alun. 20 something years ago. :D

Opps the tea boy is not happy.

I can see going the way of a band Councillor, just like what Matalica had. They were paying $40,000 a week for theres.

Lets look:.... Aluns demanding naked women and rose petals. Olly's on a mission to get a promotion, Ricky B doesn't have time as he is in re-hab. Poly's taken somebody to court for non human right abuses. And I have AIDS again for the second time.

On a personal note AIDs is a killer and a bitch to get shut off.

K give me till tomo I have an arpeggio I have been working on this morn.... Sorry to jump the gun a bit. Its in hang don't know what cords.......... Its the C major shape with alternative A string open (so just two fingers) and then B open. However, it needs to go some where I just haven't figured out where............

I will go and record it and lets see if any one can add to it, then it is true collaboration and varying ideas.....

got the intro...try F...G E for the next part ??? ( maybe ) or what comes off top
of your head....will add generic bass and drums ( temp ) to get some of the
half thinkers pitching in....but the main men are the melody/lyricists

if anybody can put a melody to a back track....put your hand(s) up

james ..keep the same sound ( dbx ) ...and when you track do at least 4 passes
so they can be picked and mixed ( ie the best takes used )

I hear your sight I see your sound
I watch our worlds as they come around

The cold of your touch it burns my skin
My love for you is leaving me living in sin

I feel the air as you pass me by
I cling to hope as I see the sky below

Our bodys are stiff ;) but continue to flow
The falling rain it stokes my fire's for you

see you 've got the tea boy interested...think so as well

note you got the tempo as 132 ..so is it a fast one
or a 'ballady' slow one which could be interpreted as 66bpm

what do you think rock or ballad??

I'd be really interested to see how you guys can turn this kind of initial idea into a full song. I have come up with little ideas like this in the past yet I can never get beyond this first point.

So where do you go from here and what is the next stage?

I think olly, you should post a cord progression maybe a bit crunchy for a chours...... The input the further it will go. I have had a fiddle with E A G there is something there......
