Finding the Right Balance with Effects in Live Gigs

I’ve been playing in a local band for a while now, and we’ve got a few gigs lined up. I love using effects, but I’m starting to worry about whether I’m using too many or the right ones. I’ve got a few pedals—overdrive, a delay, and a reverb—but I sometimes feel like they clutter the sound rather than enhance it, especially when we’re playing in smaller venues.
How do you guys approach using effects live? Do you have any tips on keeping things clear and balanced? Maybe some tricks for switching them on and off without a fuss? Any advice would be really helpful before our next show!
