Mixing Techniques: What Works for You?

Hey everyone, I've been playing guitar for a few years now, mostly in a rock band, but lately I've been curious about incorporating some techniques from other genres into my playing. I've dabbled a bit in blues and jazz, and I love how expressive and fluid those styles can be. I’m wondering if any of you have specific techniques from different genres that you've picked up and found really enriched your sound or playing style. Maybe something unexpected that worked well for you? Any tips for blending styles without losing my own voice would be great too.
