One of the most influential guitarist of all time, very much a fast and great shredder. I love the g3 tour with the satch.

Steve Vai is amazing. He is truly a Doctor of the guitar.

I hear he used to go to sleep listening to music to help him transcribe it. That is dedication!

Re: Steve Vai

Steve Vai iis awesome. He has some really neat Techniques. He is not the fastest guitarist but technically he is pro.

Re: Steve Vai

I also like Steve Vai very much. He set the standard for rock guitar virtuosity in the '80s. I especially like his 1983's Man from Utopia and 1984's Them or Us and Thing Fish.

Re: Steve Vai

He certainly does have quite a unique way of playing. I think he is a guitarist that gets better the more you familiarise yourself with him.

Like an acquired taste!

Re: Steve Vai

Yeah i would agree with Olly - I wasn't really a fan until the Passion & Warfare album. I find a bit of his stuff a bit too "out there" for my taste but the stuff on P&W was mind blowing.

That said, music appreciation is purely a matter of opinion . . .
